South & West -v- Midlands

So with Slough now topping the Midlands table, and Burnham not far behind, is it safe to assume that the South & West is the better league this season?

 

Has anybody on here seen Slough this season to enable a valid comparison?

Slough have a manager now and a new sqaud so cannot compare the two leagues that way.

 

However more sides from South West had better FA Cup runs. Perhaps thats a sign..perhaps not as cup runs can be pot luck!

I was wondering the same thing earlier. This may sound unfair as I haven't seen the likes of Paulton, Cirencester and VT FC but I feel the S&W will probably come down to a two horse race between Windsor and Totton - whereas I think the Midlands is more open with at least 5 clubs having a chance. I would have to say we're one of them (don't underestimate just how much we have improved), along with Chesham, Hitchin, Bury, Burnham and probably Arlesey.

 

The S&W also has more clubs struggling for points at the bottom, so perhaps overall the Midlands is looking like the more competitive league?

I wonder when was the last time that Windsor and the Slough of despond were both top of different divisions ?

Agree with Matt above, see Windsor probably winning theres and more than Likely Hitchin beating Slough to auto promotion. Comparing the two league i cant see an overall huge difference between the quality of the leagues, the good sides stilllook capable of playingt a league above and the dross till look like((below average) sunday league sides.

Interesting. I only see the home games but I haven't seen us dominate anybody for 90 minutes yet. No dross has come to Stag Meadow yet this season.

 

Maybe next Saturday will change that. And I'm going to miss that one as my son is swimming in Crawley at 6 o'clock. Shame!
