Radiohead - hype or what?

Well I watched them last night and was not impressed, REM however were brilliant as were SFA.

I've never seen what all the fuss is over Radiohead either. I mean, that "Creep" song is alright (especially that "wukka wukka" guitar sound), but they've kind of lost me since then. Disappeared up their own rectal passages a bit, I think. In comparison, SFA rule.

 

And he's an ugly little spud, as well. The sort of kid that got bullied at school, but no-one ever had sympathy for because he brought upon himself.

I've notoced he (Thom Yorje) is in this month's 'Q' moaning again. My God, he is so damn dull!

 

I'm well jealous of those who have gone to Glastonbury, I've been stuck at work all weekend and don't have a day off until thursday <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I'd have loved to have seen SFA, Primal Scream, REM, The Coral etcetc. Instead I've spent the weekend getting moaned at by stupid customers <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

- Thom likes Macintosh. He has Apple stickers on some of his guitars.

 

- Once Thom smashed his guitars and trashed Phil's drumkit. Then he realized what he did, and apologized to Phil by taking him and his family out to tea.

 

- Thom gets mad when people mosh at their concerts or when the press talks ****** about him.

 

- He also doesn't like it when Jonny breaks into his guitars and rewires them.

 

- When Thom started at his second school, Abingdon Boys School, (a private school), his new mates gave him the nickname "Salamander" because of his eye. He got into a fight with the guy who originated the name but that didnt stop much.

 

- Thom met his girlfriend Rachel while attending university.

 

- Shopping makes him happy.

 

- He's been dying his hair since the age of 13. But now it's back to its original color - brown.

 

- "He has the ability to make his eyes move completely independent from each other".

I'm a firm believer that successful musical artists shouldn't deliberately try to depress their audience. I'm not talking about Joy Division, Ian Curtis really was that down, whereas I just get the impression that Thom is fakin it. Quite liked The Bends & OK Computer though.

Hmmm, bit of a Radiohead backlash here! I personally think they've improved over the last 10 years. Mind you, Trev does have a point about them disappearing up their own arses, but isn't that the point??
