Blakey was one of the ones last season who wanted to play football, not just turn up for the money. Made a few mistakes throughout the season, but was never quite fully fit.

 

Would be one for next season if only we were allowed to sort it out.

 

(For Rogers sake <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> This isn't a pop at Deaner, more fact), Deaner isn't allowing the supporters club to take at least temporary control of the club which at least would allow us to appoint a manager. Admittedly the budget wouldn't be much, but with the local young talent available we could build a team to survive and then we could move forwards.

Why would local young talent be interested in joining our club? Our best players are all leaving, we have no ground, no manager, a dwindling support and we would not be able to pay anything much above expenses. If they are talented they could go to any number of clubs that are local and in a better situation. It is frightening that we have now sunk so low.

Why wouldn't they be? Plenty of young talent is available in the area, all we have to do is harness it and use it to our favour. There are plenty of young lads interested in playing for Slough Town, but Martyn does not view youth as something worth funding at present.

 

A Slough U18 & U16 side in the Allied Counties leagues could do us wonders. We could possibly get another Lloyd, or another Matty Stowell. The possibilities are there, it's up to us to implement them.
