The league so far

Smallsy is very steady, doesn't make many mistakes and has personality, which is important for a goalkeeper. Mann at Stansted is very good as well - I have to say I've not been overly impressed with Basildon keeper, but then I've only seen them twice and he's conceeded 7 in 2 games which might not have been the best games to judge. But the best I've seen is the young kid at Clapton. I don't know his name I'm afraid but he is superb. I've seen him 3 times and he impressed me every time. He's got everything. Rembering 2 years ago that Clapton discovered Rhys Madden who has gone on to be a good Ryman League keeper - they clearly have some form in that position.

Rhys went onto play for Waltham Forest and was at Witham Town both in the Ryman and on contract at the latter. Not sure where he is now.

Would be interesting to show the IP adresses on here and expose a few serial users!

Usual wengers hiding behind a dodgy username.no balls at all.

By the way after the retirement of legend Paul Dennis, the best gk in the league is our 19 years old Bobby Mason.Top draw and deserves to play higher. :futbolbud2:

I can assure you that this is not the work of any Burnham player as we are under strict instructions to stay off here. Is it that hard to believe that someone actually wants to talk about football and the team they have been watching? Any way this will be my last post, have a good season and good luck.

P.S Coachie if you are talking about the GK you had at Witham on Saturday you are having a laugh.

The End

Dont know where you get your info Coach but i have been in touch with the Stansted manager and he tells me that Denno has been injured and had a personall prob to deal with!! he is still at Stansted and very much part of the squad and has been a major contributor to the team both on and off the pitch!!He played against Enfield and may even be starting tomo!!

Its about time smallsy had a good season as his mistakes cost burnham the titles in 04-05, 05-06. Even tried costing concord the title

Ha Ha !

True!! Nice to hear that Paul is still around.Smallsy i have seen Zoff conceding a goal with the ball slipping through his legs. That didn't make him a bad keeper....you assess them over a period of time.I have heard the story about Burnham keepers costing them promotion but i never gave it too much importance.Bobby Mason coming back from Tilbury last year was instrumental in our best finishing in years. If i have to assess you from last time when we played at Burnham then....it doesn't work like that and you know it more than anybody else after leaving Burnham and now you're back. :futbolbud2:

  • 2 weeks later...

The Basildon keeper is the best i think i've seen this season, the Ashley King of Bethnal he is only 17 and has got everything.

There can be doubt about whos the best keeper in the ESL and he could be playing 3 steps higher,he turned down that offer and the money to play for nothing. hes with us this season and i hope he remains for 2010/11, good to see Richard Mann playing regularly again and smallsy has always been a better keeper than what he should be has hes hardly the tallest but doesnt seem to be up for it so much with his missus and the dutch fc.

Dont mean this horribly, but why would you turn down a paid opportunity to play at three steps higher?? :smashfreakb:

we are priviliged to have him for however long he stays.

I know of many a player who would stay at a lower level so they can carry on playing with their mates at Sunday level too than go higher and on contract and not be abe to enjoy their sunday game. Not always about money
