Hello all.

 

I am new to these boards and having been reading through the contents and see there are very passionate fans out there.

 

I am a Burnham Ramblers fan, have been for 2 years now. I enjoy making the trip to Burnham and watching the local team play. I am a Burnham fan despite living in Leigh because my nephew was playing for Maldon on a regular basis few years ago and I didnt enjoy watching him and supporting Maldon so decided to support the might Ramblers.

 

Anyway the point of the article is to find out about the sides in the league.

 

I would like to know, who is your captain, and who in your opinion is your most valuable player.

 

I have been scouting through websites of various senior league clubs and would just like a better insight into in.

 

Burnhams captain is Keith Wilson and in my opinion our most valuable player is John Bradley.

 

Would like to know people's opinions.

Green Machine's captain is Ainsley Gasper, and most valuable player well has manager i can't answer that, but put it this way i would not swap my squad with any other because i have a good set of lads playing for me>

I am a Stansted FC fan and our captain is Louis Frota and our most valuable players are either Sean Thomas, Leon Antoine or Michael Begg. I have always liked Tony Mercer as well mainly because I can prenounce his name MMMMMMMMMMMMMercer. COME ON YOU AIRPORTMEN!!!

Mr Meat are you looking forward to the Burnham v Stansted game this weekend. Should be an exciting attacking game.

Witham's captain is Steve Joyce and having the most experience he is probably our most important player. He is a good link from the older lads, before we cleared the decks a bit to the youth players establishing themselves at the club. Although Tony Walkin is the longest serving player.

Gotta agree with your Burnham choices, Small is one of the best keepers in the league. All the players respect him and he has had some real quality games this year and Lewis is a top player with a lethal finish in his locker. Lets hope Lewis can catch Bocking from Basildon this year and win the Golden boot award.

i think your stupid how can you say small is poor hes goal to game ratio speaks for itself and keeping burnham where they are so your comments to your self because there not needed. only if bowers had a decent keeper same with hullbridge then the games will be more intresting !

We all have our opinions on individual players but the stats speak for themselves. Burnham have the best defensive record in the league. Therefore Mr Small must be doing something right as he has kept quite a few clean sheets too.

thanks mate, yeah i respect your opinion but a goalkeeper is only as good as its defence, especially with the young stud keith at left back, i think he is quality, magical left peg. i think you should stop ass liking and respect the fact that the burnham defense is why the goal tally is so low this season so far.

palmer the current basildon united goalkeeper is in my opinion the best goalkeeper in the essex senior league this season,smallsy doing well at burnham ramblers as is richard mann the current stansted goalkeeper,their are others in the league which i have probably missed or have not seen play this season.

 

 

Richard, you were not kidding when you said selling progs, doing the turnstyle is only half of what you do, didn't realize you zoom up the m11 to go between the sticks.

Smallsy is very steady, doesn't make many mistakes and has personality, which is important for a goalkeeper. Mann at Stansted is very good as well - I have to say I've not been overly impressed with Basildon keeper, but then I've only seen them twice and he's conceeded 7 in 2 games which might not have been the best games to judge. But the best I've seen is the young kid at Clapton. I don't know his name I'm afraid but he is superb. I've seen him 3 times and he impressed me every time. He's got everything. Rembering 2 years ago that Clapton discovered Rhys Madden who has gone on to be a good Ryman League keeper - they clearly have some form in that position.
