Best and Worse Grounds

Recommended Posts

Groundsharing, clubs who hijack and pay pittance just to get somewhere without the hassle, and clubs who have no parking facilities shouldn't be allowed in this league, Hoddeson and Cockfosters, why should teams travel miles just to have some jumped up t**t of a warden stick a ticket on his window....could be a good one to go with, if you don't have parking facilities or a ground you can call your own then you should go back to playing park football.

Cockfosters Beware

We had two incidents at Cockfosters at the reserves game two weeks ago, one ticket at £60.00, and one towed away @ £290.00 to recover the car. The sixty pound one was just about to be lifted, but they couldn't get the hiab lorry in position to take it away, Ironically when the lad went to pay the ticket they had written the reg number down wrong so he got away it. Sadly not the case for the £290.00 removal. I believe it was because he had one wheel on the pavement.

Parking facilities adjacent to our ground are rather limited, especially on Saturdays. Please be aware and inform your players / members accordingly, that the yellow line restrictions in Chalk Lane (which apply until 6.00 pm including Saturdays) are strictly enforced with both clamping as well as tow-away (have already had three cars towed away this season) in regular use.

Wisezola - To be fair Cockfosters always warn away Club's of the parking restrictions around Chalk Lane on match days

Cliff, sorry mate but totally wrong, none of the New Bradwell boys were warned on their arrival, I mean a good 90 mile or so round trip and they haven't got the decency to warn you, I mean we were all there for 1.45pm so plenty of time.....will say top draw committee once within but it wouldn't take much say on here before the season starts or when contacting clubs to warn them of certain restrictions, I mean at Cockfosters it isn't even a main road for God sake.

And as said before, at New Bradwell, no charge for entry, parking facilities too, so where is the fairness in that.

So maybe the SSML should look into ground grading a bit more, if you don't have a ground you can call your own or have your brother-in-law working a scam coz you haven't got parking facilities, then have you a right to be part of this league.

And maybe at Step 6, only clubs who take a gate should be allowed in? Also, the entry for Cockfosters says in big bold type in the handbook "VEHICLE DRIVERS BE AWARE THAT THE YELLOW LINES & PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN CHALK LANE ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED ON SATURDAYS"

No but the New Bradwell St Peter Secretary would have received a letter at least a week before the game from the ultra efficient Graham Bint notifying the Club of the restrictions and to pass the information on to drivers
