I disagree. "Heaviness" is a state of mind thing - Black Sabbath, whose first few albums seemed to be recorded in a cardboard box with biscuit tins for drums and a guitar going through what sounds like a 5 watt practice amp, are still heavier than any band you find today.

As for Led Zeppelin, it sounds light if you don't have it on at maximum volume, but (and you may have to trust me on this), they're more or less the only band I can think of that sound better and better the louder they get.

We sat stoned and listened to "Black Dog", "Rock & Roll" and "Stairway To Heaven" at a volume sufficiently high to make the whole house vibrate - I'd forgotten how awesome they are when played loud.

Led Zeppelin - definitely. G 'n' R, not really although probably as good as regular metal gets. Some of the tracks they chose for their covers LP will pretty cool.

Every one forgot Jimmy Hendrix. I'm only 17, but i know what music is. E.g. Oasis and Phonix.

Hendrix is a different type of rock though..also,although he was undoutbalby a great musician who's music is still brilliant today I don't think that he would be as popular today if it weren't for his death..

Of course Hendrix is more popular cause of his death everyone gets more popular through Diana, Lennon etc. As for not being able to appreciate quality rock music being a Ricay nope maybe its a private school thing.
