A report from TK forum

Stanstead 0 Basildon 0 Essex Senior League

Admission £5/£3

Programme £1.50

Tea 60p ( in a mug in the social club and large plastic cup in the ground)

h/c 31.

I have banged on about the ground gradings before and how this is a step 5 ground I don't know?- but hey-ho. They do have a quaint stand to provide cover. As for the game it was a pantomime and comedy all rolled in to one. It was never boring but not for the action on the pitch. The ref was clearly one who liked to lecture players rather than show cards and in the end it contributed to a very strange match where the team that screamed the loudest got the decision. The Basildon keeper was sent off as was the home midfielder after a mass confrontation. As for the game, Stanstead hit the post in the second half and Basildon missed a great chance in the last minute and the game was summed up by one witty supporter as " I've not seen a football match, I've watched an argument!". Another great moment came when one of the home bench tried to kick a new ball on to the pitch and didn't see the water bottles and ended up on his backside. I've obviously upset the goal gods again as this was my second 0-0 in a week.

it wasnt a bad match but im not happy about the sending off and i am getting fed up with attending appeal hearings, the ground is ok and stansted are a friendly lot.

interesting to see that craig gillam played for kelvendon today, im surprised that bowers was off as they spend thousands on their pitch close season.

Stansted are a friendly lot and its a really good old fashioned club. But the ground is terrible for a step 5 ground. It's not the only one in the ESL either. There are a few that wouldn't be passed by the FA in other areas of the country where there are plenty of clubs with suitable facilities. Essentially without Stansted and the like we wouldn't have a league, so the rules are certainly bent to breaking point.

All these draws are giving burnham a huge boost any danger of somone applying just a little pressure!

A bit early for that call Cheesy.....12 games played 22 to go.I'm sure Enfield,Barkingside,Bethnal Green and the rest will be happy to oblige.

Just make sure you don't put yourselves under pressure....just keep it quiet shhhh and you might do a romford with a return ticket!

Out of interest...

Which Kelvedon?

Kelvedon Hatch Brentwood way

or Kelvedon between Stanway and Witham

or is there another Kelvedon.
