Aylesbury United 2-5 Slough Town

This game could have had a result of 15-2 if it were not for the great saves of the Aylesbury keeper - his defence were awful!

Some enjoyable football from Slough in the first half, with numerous chances on goal. Second half took a very long time to get going and it was only once the subs came on that it livened up again.

Will anyone ever score a hatrick for Slough again, or will Andy Ballards perfect hatrick be the last?

Hope Aylesbury are able to save the club, as talking to some of their fans before the game they are in a worse state than we were - and that is something I wish on no club.

First of all good luck to Aylesbury. Nice to see their supporters sticking with them in their troubled times, we've been there ourselves looking like we have no direction and know how that feels so all the best to them. Proper club.

Missed the first fifteen due to my Tom-Tom sending me to a car park!! But was a little disappointed if truth be told. We were never going to lose the match, but I thought we were sloppy at times and could have kept the ball better and certainally defended better as they had a few chances themselves.

Having said that we got the job done and picked-up points when we were not at our best. Though Elliot was our best player and two fantastic goals by him.

Very difficult game Tuesday now.

I think it shows how good this team could be in that we walked through this game and never looked likely to come away with anything other than a convincing win. Had we wanted to win more convincingly I'm sure we could have done. The Aylesbury keeeper was superb and kept the score vaguely respectable for them.

Lots of great performances toady - Perks was tremendous on crosses, more goals from NBH, Deano was immense today and only a whisker away from the goal of several seasons and I thought Edge had a good game in the middle. My pick however was Sonner who worked his **** off all game. I really hope we can hang on to him.

A question however - what game did Ballard score that last hat-trick? We can't recall. I'm also having a disagreement with Kay about where the Doxhill Cup Final was played so would be grateful for clarification!

Have to agree with Staines thought the Ducks keeper had and inspired first 45 the save from Harps was superb but what a super strike where did he get that from, pleased for Elliott his work rate was excellant and looks a good partnership with Sean also NBH back to his best

Really enjoyed the game today. I thought some of our build up play was a delight to watch and but for their keeper and some desperate defending we could have had double figures.

How anybody can say they came away disappointed I don't know.

Difficult to pick MoM because there were a few candidates.

Sonner for his non stop work rate

NBH, solid performance and 2 goals

Buchannon for 2 excellent goals

Herron for another quality performance

Sinclair , class performance

Sweeney, solid as ever

Edgeworth, class performance

Harper, solid game.

Heybridge Swifts in the league cup where he turned up late, didn't have much of a wamr up and still scored a hat trick.

Doxhill Cup was at Stag Meadow. (The big win against Stevenage youth side?)

With regards to the game today, sadly no video as I didn't have any life on the battery.

Normal service to be resumed Tuesday.

Cheers, Gary. The Doxhill Cup match came up in conversation because I couldn't think of a game where we'd scored enough goals for Andy Ballard to have got three!! I don't think I was at the Heybridge game so the last hat-trick I think I saw was Seedel at Worthing. I told her the Doxhill game was at Slag Meadow!!!

Great, probably missed the goal of the season so far from Buchannon.

A drag back, sent 2 players the wrong way, a couple of shimmies and blasted into the net, what a goal to miss!!!!!!!

Good to see so many Slough fans at the game yesterday, can't actually remember seeing a game with so many visiting supporters in all our time sharing there.

You seem to be a club on the up, good luck for the future - we will be trying to emulate your achievements, albeit from the lower level next season as it's almost certain we're going down this season.

full credit to those Aylesbury fans who have stuck with their team and continue to travel a fair distance just for a home game. we know exactly what its like going into games expecting to lose by multiple goals to 1 or 0. best of luck for the future hopefully you to can turn the corner eventually like we seem to have at last. much friendlier fans than most in this league as well

without being disrespectful this was a game we expected Slough to win and we did. we wasnt at our best particular for spells but we still grab 5 goals. the 2 conceded was a bit annoying but fair play with Aylesbury's hard work they deserved a goal imo. the freekick was very good as well (their 2nd)

when we turned it on we were mighty impressive particularly Buchanans 2nd and NBH 2nd. well taken goal from Murphy also.
