With the amount of chances we had we should have buried this game long before the final whistle. VCD came to defend and nick a goal on the counter attack but they defended poorly. Our shooting was abysmal. Even our goal cam e from a header that was the result of a miss hit shot!!

After all the positives I heard about the win over Concord I was anticipating good things on Saturday, but all I saw was a very average Ryman like performance, very disapointing.

 

It has to be said that the keeper has cost us four points the last two Saturdays, hope his poor spell is now over.

This was the first game I have managed to get to for quite some time, as I live and work abroad. No doubt I just picked a bad day, but I have to say I was pretty disappointed with the quality of football on offer. I expected the Town to play with some confidence after the good result mid-week, but football was at a premium on Saturday. No width on the left, midfield bypassed far too often and a distinct lack of height throughout the team save for the centreback.

 

Not sure I agree with Happy's statement about having had several chances to score but not taking them. We created very little in the first half, and scored from one of only two decent attacks in the second. My guess is that we will struggle whenever we come up against physical teams like VCD, but to be fair their front two worked hard, linked well and the left winger looked like he would set up a goalscoring chance every time he got the ball. Call me a miserable, out-of touch so and so but based on that showing, I am surprised we are a top 6 side.

 

Hopefully I can make it to the game on Tuesday nght. If not, see you next season!

Agree there Gazza.

 

Over the season Rob has cost us many points. - Oh for Walton from last season.

 

I believe that Goal and Right Back are our two weak spots in the current team selection.

Good to see you there on Saturday. Shame the game panned out the way it did after I said that we played so well on Tuesday.

 

So just how many miles did you travel to see the game?

Round trip approx 6,800 miles. All in a good cause ;-). Hopefully we will be up and running at QEII next time I get back.

 

My apologies to Gilli, who I did not get to see. Keep up all the good work!! The club would not be the same without its hard working volunteers like you.

Yeah shame we did'nt catch up but never mind, hopefully see you next time you manage to get back over, hope that the boys are still doing well.

The opposistion sometimes changes but the good old Townie excuses sure do stay the same :bs:

Not an excuse just the fact that they turned up with a plan and won while we weren't up to it.
