Another defeat, scored two own goal as well, [censored] day all round

A comfortable win for Cobham on Sat against a Feltham side, who to their credit never gave up. We had the game wrapped up at half time when some good football and 1 fortunate finish we were 3-0 to the good. Never really got out of third gear in the second half and another goal finished them off (Wattsy when was the second og scored, as only thought the 4th was an og?).

Our defence is looking good atm and I didn't have a save to make so v happy with that. We have a tough run of games over xmas and the New Year which will go a long way to determining how well our season goes.

Molesey 4-Dorking0 ,could have been more, except for some old bloke in goal.

Hat's off to him

Unfortunately our regular keeper, Dan Coote, was unavailable yesterday.

That 'Old Bloke' was our gaffer ! He has played between the stick before, so I'm told.

More to follow, hopefully !

MOLESEY 4 DORKING 0.

Dorking fell to defeat at Molesey on Saturday, two goals in the final 18 minutes giving Molesey a comfortable win after a more even first half which had seen Chicks create some chances as they sought to overcome a 5th minute opener for the home side courtesy of Ibrahim Zadeh.

The game was the last in charge of Tony Webb as first team manager after his decision to step down from active first team affairs and concentrate on his role as overall director of football at Dorking FC, and the game will prove memorable for Webb for a variety of reasons, not least as he stepped forward to don the goalkeeper’s gloves for the team in the absence of captain Dan Coote, who had been forced to miss the game for work reasons.

Tony Webb, an outstanding non league keeper in his playing days, is no stranger to the keeping position having spent long spells in the Ryman League with Leatherhead, Aveley and Tooting and Mitcham, but Webb had not played a first team game for nigh on three seasons. An independent observer though would not have noticed it as Webb excelled himself between the posts, making several stunning saves during the course of the match, ending his Dorking first team manager’s career on a personal performance high even if the result did not go his side’s way.

Dorking fielded much of the side that had shocked Chertsey Town in their last game at Meadowbank 10 days before when Dorking picked up an unexpected 3-2 victory, with Roy Newman taking the captain’s arm band in the absence of Coote.

However influential midfielder Dan Clayton and senior player Jesse Davis were also missing, Clayton missing his first game of the season through hoiday and Davis through illness, and their absence saw the Dorking midfield overran for much of the game by a more dominant Molesey midfield unit.

This forced Dorking to defend for long stretches of the game, with Newman and Charlie Merrick prominent and Martin Waldren and Scott Murphy doing a steady job at full back.

Dorking's best spell was either side of half time, especially early in the second half when Chicks pressed and had two efforts cleared off the line, but Molesey became increasingly influential as the game progressed. It was therefore no real surprise when Molesey stretched their lead on 60 minutes when LAmpard scored for the home team.

On a heavy pitch the game became stretched, and Lewis and McShane on 75 and 86 minutes (through a penalty) gave the home side a deserved win as Dorking tired, although many of the plaudits will go to Webb for a fine performance in goal.

Team:- 1 Tony webb, 2 Scott Murphy, 3 Martin Waldren, 4 Charlie Merrick, 5 Roy Newman (Capt.), 6 Andy Davidson, 7 Taylor Mollatt, 8 Lee Henderson, 9 Joe Loyza, 10 Luke Jones, 11 Shola Elusade.

Substitutes:- 12 Jamie Pendrill, 14 Alastair Moore, 15 Nathan Odora, 16 George Tedder, 17 Andy Briant.

Won 4-0 at Egham, very good result. We took the lead early on then doubled it before Fish saved a penalty and then Blason had a penalty saved himself as well. Then a rare indirect free kick was botched up by Egham and two late goals put the cherry on top of a quite good performance. They didn’t seem to like the fact that we created an atmosphere though, quite pathetic to be honest.

Ah well off to Camberley we go on Tuesday.

You did sing well all to the same tune tho,as for the village idiot that shows off how well he can so spell ash utd,but no abuse for the egham Gk with him being that big I thought you would've given him plenty.I might drift over watch Tuesday good luck

Aha thank you we do try ;). As for the so called ‘village idiot’, he is what this league is all about, pride, passion and belief. No matter how much you knock him he will not pipe down, true legend of Ash United. The keeper didn’t need to obtain any abuse from us to be honest, it was funny enough watching him miskick the ball every time we did the air horn.

As for the game tomorrow, it would be nice to finally beat Camberley to march on into the next round, I’m hoping that Camberley put out a weakened team and then the greens go marching on on on!

Your third. I cleared it off the line and as I stepped out of the goal it came back off Ricardo (I think) and it me on the shoulder and diverted inoff the post. Gutted as it was going wide and busted a gut to get back to clear off the line

I have seen him shut up once or twice when you've been stuffed on a couple of occasions, but fair play he is loyal.as for you lot behind the goal great noise but it wasn't your air horn causing him miss kick the ball it's our pitch.

Wattsy, you must have a bendy body, because if i read you right you cleared it of the line, thus saving a goal,it hit Ricardo, then your shoulder when returned, then the post, and went in,but it was going wide.So you got massive shoulders.

I was near enough on the post, cleared it and momentum took me to the other side of the post, once it hit the forward it then came back, hit my right shoulder and crept in the net. If you get me
