Ty's arrival

This is a big signing, only a year and a half ago he was skipping past Campbell and Viera and scoring one of the goals of the season at Highbury!

Ty will sign on Saturday. He's only 30 and will find the difference in level a breeze. Gills would not play him because he couldn't train every day but Jeff will be less strict. Aoart from his ankle, he is very fit and will help improve the Gulls into the conference.

We've had ex league players before but none who were regulars in Division One just before signing for us.

Facetious and stupid you most definitely are! I mentioned that he's ankle was a problem when he was asked to train every day. There should be no problem playing part time. Basically he is no Dicks who was completely crocked when he signed for us. He will be the star of the team, mark my words........

I remember him from my days at Castle View, He was a couple of years older than me but was a superb player. Any of you who are Aresnal fans may remember he went through to youth team until released around 16 years of age but played against Aresenal again a couple of years ago and scored a scramer from outside left position around 25 yards out.

He was a Canvey Lad and I beleive he will definately be a great addition to the squad.

Hopefully Scoot will come back on here and let everyone know how many times he was pushed of the ball or nutmegged by Ty.

The Season is fast approaching !!!

Cannot wait

hmm yes, fond memories of my childhood living 4 doors down from the Gooden Brothers. Small boys in the park, jumpers for goal posts, rubbing the ball in dog mess and hoping your mate would head it !! I taught him everything he knows...watch out for the 'terry toe punt' !

I wish him well and hope he can give Canvey that extra 10% they need for the push for title honurs.

ps Hillsy, im still counting the nutmegs...!!

As long as he doesn't expect 'the change in pace to be a breeze' he should be a great signing. Too many players expect non league footy to be easy, but he will have a shock as so many have in the past should he not put 110% effort in.

I'm going to have to change my profile now, as Merv has just informed me that him and I are going to be sponsoring Ty next season! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Great to think we are signing quality midfield players, but I thought we did Ok with the existing players last year. I would like to see a 1st class Centre Half to help the defence, where our goals against was a problem. We had to play Bennett there too often last year. No problem with the existing guys, but I feel we need extra cover there.

Plus Potter has got to start as No 1 keeper. To keep changing your Goalkeeper doesn't help the defence.

Ty has signed a 2 year deal. I think he will help the team keep hold of the ball for longer periods which should improve on the goals conceded. He is a very hard working player who will give his all in every game. I think the Conference will be achieved at last!

I have to admit I was a little sceptical at first when I heard we were signing Ty but now I'm really looking forward to seeing him play. As a Canvey lad he will have plenty of commitment for the cause and there is no doubting his talent. It's a question of his fitness. He will be having to play in three games in eight days at some stages in the season but with a big squad hopefully we can rest him occassionally.

We need to give him a chance. It will take a while before he returns to full fitness so we as fans need to get behind him. He could certainly turn out to be one of Canvey's best ever signings.
