End of Season Walk

Hello everyone,

Following on from our last discussion on here, and a few discussions behind the goal, it appears that there aren't many takers for a smaller walk, so it looks like we'll only be doing the full walk to Sutton Coldfield.

As I understand it there are four brave souls/complete nutters willing to undertake this mammoth task, so we need to start thinking about which charity we'd like to share the proceeds.

If you have any local charities you'd like to nominate, please leave a note on here or speak to a Trust board member, and the Trust will make a decision at the next meeting.

Many thanks in advance,

Charlie

My choice would be Slough Crossroads. This is a charity which provides respite to carers, runs a young carers project and is the provider of a little bit of freedom to a large number of carers, (many of whom are elderly themselves.

I worked for this organisation for a couple of years and really feel that it is a very worthy cause.

I thought it was going to be age concern ...we have already been in contact I believe . The Jets are doing a charity event for them on Saturday 28th nov. so it will be great that the football club

can do something too...

cheers chris... subject to the STSA board decision.

I agree with Roger that it's best that those walking should put a recommendation to the club which they can then agree. On a separate question though - who is the 4th person?? I knew Radders, Martin and Kay had taken leave of their senses but who is the fourth lunatic?!!

fair point...as i said I did not know where or when the money has gone yet to the age concern...or that last years has been in aid of their organisation.

I beleive the trust were still waiting on some money ...and when this is all collected I hope we can get some good publicity and maybe a photo of all last years walkers

together again...

Hi all

I think Help For Heroes would be a fantastic charity to raise funds for this season. Also would be a great chance to help raise the profile of the club as the Help For Heroes charity do a great job of reporting people who raise funds through thier newspaper, aslo would be able to get into the soldier magazine which is not only sold nationwide but gets sent all round the world including our Armed Services serving abroad. This will be a great chance to raise money and awareness of our brave Men and Women as well as benefit the club.

Regards MerryRebel
