weeks of no home games

How are the club managing to survive this period? Wages to pay. No income through the gates, no bar takings, only limited income from board sponsorships, that the hard working commercial director Cliff Egan is bringing in and, of course what ever monies MISA can donate from the Lottery and other events. All this at the same time as the club have cleared the debt to the tax authorities. Life never seems to be easy at Margate fc, does it.

Keep up the good works Cliff.

Agreed. But now we have an accountant on board, thats what budgeting and cash flow forecasting are for. I'm sure he will be able to build contingency in for this in the future - Albeit this is extreme and he won't have been in the role long enough to build that contingency plan for this occasion.

I think you'll find standard practice in football is for bills or players not to be paid (which is why so many clubs end up being pursued by the taxman). Not that, I'm sure, our current regime would do such a thing.

quote me if i am wrong but, wasn't it part of the agreement with hmce that taxes had to be paid up to date.

Plans are no doubt being laid for next season. The next season I am sure will not be a problem. It is the unprecedented lack of home games the club are going through that is the cause of my concern.

from the fringes I see the lengths that Cliff Egan is going to in providing the funding necessary to keep the club going. It's great to see a proper commercial guy at work.

I hope his latest idea has been taken up by fans. I have sponsored a game in the past and its a great day out for myself and my friends.

Good deal for the first 10.

£30 quid per person. Good deal

The issue here is cash flow and not the total cash at the end of the season - they are very different. If all the club's suppliers, players, tax man would wait until the end of the season for their money, there's no issue. But, that's not how it works.
