Just got to view our prog that was NOT distriputed v Sawbo as the game got called off. In there Dave did an article about the LAST time the two sides met and a table of the teams involved. Seems strange to see Woodford, Chelmsford, Purfleet, Halstead and Brightlingsea.

 

THIS IS HOW THE ESL TABLE LOOKED ON 27/9/86:

Sawbo, Burnham, E.Thurrock, Canvey, Purfleet, Bowers utd, (before pitsea i assume) Witham, Brentwood, Woodford, Halstead (shame they cant move back) stansted, East ham, Ford, Brightlingsea, and Chelmsford & Maldon both in the bottom 3 and finally E.Manor in bottom place.

Ford to Redbridge

Eastham to Barking & Eastham and now Barking

Bowers Utd to Bowers & Pitsea

 

Chelmsford City & Thurrock in Conf South

Canvey Ryman Prem

E.Thurrock Ryman one north

and at the other extreme Brightlingsea had to go down to step.7 and start again not sure where Woodford are now if they exsist and Halstead are Ridgeons One Step 6

 

Time goes fast in non league football.
