Lennie Lee

BlueGate Alan

Sad to see an horrific picture of his broken leg in todays local. He is manager of Birchington USC, a local Sunday team and was only playing because his team were short of players, had an accidental collision with an opponent and ended up with his 3rd broken leg of his career.

Not surprisingly he has said at 50 his playing days are now over.

Get well soon Lennie.

Very sad to hear about that, the likes of Lennie Lee, Frank Ovard and vic Medus got me hooked on Margate in the first place. Wait what am I saying, all the trials, the tribulations, the council, the ground, the season spent building the team instead of the pre-season, My god I should hate the guy.

Anyway I'm very sorry to hear about this Lennie, get well soon.

He was always one of my favourites Alan, A week at school was always made survivable by the thought of seeing the likes of those three playing at the weekend. Isn't it amazing, I dont remember much of my childhood at all, and I'm only 36, but I still remember the players for Thanet United as it was then. P.S. I still pick Billy Plews over Bill Edwards (if my memory works right).

Saw the break in the gazette this morning. Heard about it at training Wednesday night. Played for Lennie a couple of seasons ago for Thanet Facias. Really sorry to see an injury like that. Glad I wasn't playing as i'd probably have thrown up seeing his leg like that. Get well soon Lennie and best wishes to you.
