Well I can get to the threads now. I couldn't for a little while, although that could have been down to me mucking about trying to get a picture where my avatar should be.

Chubbhead, your avatar link is pointing to a file on your computer, that's why no-one else can see it. If you want to use a file as your avatar you have to go into your Profile in My Home and upload it to the server first.

 

Try the FAQ, it probably explains it better than I can.

Chubbhead - was your avatar a link to a pic on another site? If so that site may have gone down. I can't see the avatars of GHA or pabird either, is that the same for anybody else?

Chubbhead. When trying to upload an avatar, instead of typing in a URL, go to the upload part and click browse. Select the picture you want from your computer, and if it works, it works. Rob can probably explain it better than I can <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Occasionally your avatar doesn't show up GHA. PA Bird's never has.

 

I still have a problem which no-one else seems to, I can't upload gif images, either direct from the webpage or in My Pictures yet everyone else can. Why?

I'm really anti-usa at the moment, has anyone seen the Micheal Moore film "bowling for columbine", it's more of a documentry but it is fantastic, it's about the gun culture in the usa, they really are a stupid/paranoid race. And Charlton Heston is a tit!

Moore generally only makes documentaries, but to try to make them more appealing they are erferred to as films. The 'film' I watched was set in his home town and was referred to as a comedy. On the whole I found it disturbing.

Ppoor old Heston, he's got Parkinsons hasn't he? I don't agree with his pro-gun stance but I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

 

As for my avatar, when I first registered on here, there was a photo gallery that you could choose your picture from (I mean actually on this site, not on my computer) and that's where I got the baby picture from. But that's gone and so has the gallery. It's only recently that I tried to put a picture from my computer as my avatar, which is why I've got that file name on there.

 

Did that make any sense whatsoever?
