How to promote AFCH as a club within local community

Well ive been in thought tonight and it struck me how many times people in the local community dont know AFCH exsist. In my school knowone knew AFCH was a club as most people thought it closed when HFC went under. Ive promoted it a bit and persuaded a few people to try and watch the urchins and they've enjoyed it. Also what when im out people ask what shirt im wearing. So I say Hornchurch and like what I said previously they think HFC and a club didn't exsist anymore.

So how can we promote the club within the community ?

One of my ideas is to have stalls over school feyes in the summer (and sometimes winter), try and get more posters in the Hornchurch Town Centre as ive only seen once a poster in there and that was for the Pete & Borough match and give out leaflets in schools to take home.

Anymore suggestions please add ............. :excited:

I have suggested school fairs for years. Perfect for targeting kids and parents who want to go to football but can't afford the ever increasing Premiership prices.

Problem is if national TV exposure (last years FA cup) doesn't go someway to promoting us, what will? Attendances are dropping and I can't quite understand it.

I know that this was tried before but if the club can afford it (which I have no idea) then how about a heavily promoted 'free entry scheme' for a Saturday match.

A sponsor would help if one could be found.

I honestly think that the price is too high these days. I think a lot of people are put off by it. I think reducing it to £8 would make a big difference. For £9, see a tenner. For £8, see wrong side of a fiver. A pound doesn't buy you anything these days but £2 change from 10 pounds buys you a hot dog or cup of tea and a snickers.

I have a feeling that the league sets the rules on pricing and £9 is the minimum we can charge for adults, not 100% sure but i have been to some games this season, maidstone off the top of my head where its been a tenner

I think from our chats at supporters committee meetings that school fetes will probably happen
