Wealdstone view of Saturday

They wanted it off (the management, not the fans).

I can kind of understand it from their point of view. It could have been a lottery, and we would have been up for it with a new manager.

On the other hand, they are currently on a good run, we are not. Things might be different in a couple of months (or whenever the game is eventually played).

Think the postponement was good for both teams overall, them in that they thought that they might lose in a lottery and us in that we needed the extra training more than the match.

Not just what I read but listening to the Steve Beeks interview as well both made it sound a big problem. Without intending to sound like a know it all, even a few not keeping up shouldn't happen at this time of the season, unless they are on their way back from injury, in which case should they have been doing such a heavy workout?

Again if you listen to the Steve Beeks interview, not good. He is talking about changing the culture at the club, which normally insinuates that bad practices existed before they took over. I could be completely wrong, he could be just trying to make himself and mark butler sound better, or offering early excuses for poor performances, but from the guys have had to say in interviews so far at the club that doesnt quite ring true either. I hope I am wrong and it is just 1 or 2 players who have slacked off a bit, but thats not the impression the management are giving at the moment. It has also been noted in match reports on occassions how by 60 mins we have been falling right off the pace in some games, again raising the question why aren't the squad fit enough to last 90 mins by November.

More importantly, i get the vibes that the players have 'embraced' any new culture.

Most people like guidance,to work hard, strong leadership and clear direction-and it seems that is what MB and SB are installing -and that the players are actually welcoming it.

That is very good to hear and a very positive step if the players are supporting the changes the management are making. Sorry I know I rant on this topic, it just doesnt seem fair on the club or the supporters who pay to see the match and to keep the club running if the players have not been making the effort so they can give 100%. Maybe I'm biased in that I am in a position where I personally cant do anything about my fitness, but it just seems to me that if players havent been putting in the effort to get/stay fit for the club they are ripping off the club as an employer and the fans who are shelling out hard earned money to see them.

If we are honest with ourselves-how many of us would actualy recognise if the players are fit or not ?

I don't recall a single posting this year referring to Margate players lack of fitness ,until MB's comments recently.

Guess thats why the majority of us need to stick with the day job.

Along similar lines-in recent years who would hazard a guess as to under whose management the players were fittest:

Kinnear,Trott,Ashby or Yorath.

Personally i would'nt have a clue
