Great news for Dreamland and Margate as a whole

Funding is through for the dreamland heritage park.

As someone (Like some other Gate watchers) who comes originally from the north (and lives in ramsgate), who works out in the community (private hire driver) I see Thanet as a whole and do not have the loyalties to any particular patch of territory. I am not a Millmead, Newington ,Birchington, Margate etc boy. or a St George's, Dane court, or King Ethelbert old boy. I see Thanet as an outsider looking in.

Thanet as a whole(taking away the petty arealization) is a wonderful area. Its history is breath taking ,Its archeology outstanding, its beaches and bays, its people on the whole warm and welcoming.

Over the last 12/13 years I have lived here and the visits here over the previous 8 years, I have seen Thanet gradually slip into depression, partially through people going abroad for holidays, partially due to people being so used to "the good old days"they just took and did not invest. "Council", no, I won't go there. Just say look at Margate see front?.

This next year is going to be different. The Ramsgate sea front development is getting underway.the Airport. We have Thanet Earth. The new fast trains are in place. China Gateway is due to start, The final section of the Thanet way (marked out and Archaeologists are digging) is under way. Plans for Arlington arcade announced, The Turner Contemporary is topping out this week. Dreamland Heritage fun park as received the funding announced today . Margate fc have a new management team both, on the field and in the board room. Also believe they hope to start the north end very soon.

So Mr Harwood if you don't want to play for a team that like the area is going places then pi*s off and play elsewhere. Anyone else who feels like he, go know

Come on the Gaaaaaaaaaate we are know onwards and upwards both, as a team and as an area.

I can't say I agree there. My nan collapsed along Northdown Road Thursday morning when she was out with my mum, and nobody stopped to help or see if she was alright. My mum said everybody was just walking past and no cars stopped. The only person who actually stopped by to help was the lady who lives across the road from us.
