That's why we're still top of the league!

Due to the weather it was always going to be a game of two halfs. The wind should get an assist for their goal as i'm sure it helped the ball swerve a bit and it certainly stopped us getting a few shots in first half.

Richardson made the difference today. Great header for his goal and a wonderful nod down for seeds to blast it into the top corner. I was right behind it and thought it was going to break the net!

Roll on Saturday! We're only just getting started!!

Supersub strikes again.

Do you think his fitness has improved (as Scott said would happen after he arrived) or has he / the team got his role sussed out now, or is it just that coming on for the final 20 minutes means he can have a short full-on burst when the defenders are getting tired and not have to conserve his energy? In the early days the team were playing balls over the top expecting him to chase them down a la Chennells and Osobu which it quickly became apparent wasn't his game, but everything about him looked so ponderous when he was starting games - he looks so much sharper now and is going to be 2009/10's cult hero I reckon. (Can a cult have only a few dozen memebers?)

My sentiments exactly Woody WEFC!!!! Since Darren Perrin was installed as manager we're undefeated in the league & its certainly a case of "e i e i e i o up the southern league we go!!" Frome seem to be improving week in week out & its fair to say were only just getting started ourselves & i reckon both sets of fans will we in for a footballing treat on saturday. A big enough treat to get me to drive up from cornwall for it anyway!!

He did well in his debut as a sub and to be fair did well at mangostfield and started. He is getting fitter and the players are working out how to use him. He was a cult hero from the moment he came on the pitch on the Punto stand!! Ashley Smith did well yesterday too in a big game in terrible conditions. Speaking to Scotty before the match he said Marcus hasnt had a pre-season so is always playing catch up. Keep the form of recent weeks up and he'll be one of our key players! He offers something Victor and Chenns simply cannot.

Interesting part in their report that says:-

"Windsor had clearly set out to target Reid. He just about managed to calm himself down as the sniping continued. Clearly, if he could be tempted into an impetuous challenge their load would be eased. "

I am not surprised he was a "target" when he is offering to fight players after the game and threatening to, and I quote, "rape your mum".

After the match he then, along with his captain, threatened Jim Melvin and had to be dragged off the pitch.

This is the same captain who throw a punch at Marcus Richardson.

Clearly this guy is an absolute angel and would never do anything wrong!!

What they also failed to mention was how Dicko completely tied Reid up in knots to get he cross in from Marcus's equaliser. They seem to think it was Jake.

I would suggest that the Ciren supporter take a look at his own players before slating the opposition.

Didnt see the punch myself but others did and it seemed the lino did as he had a chat with the ref...but then nothing was done about it. Very strange!! Sounds like a pleasent person and a great person to represent the club!!

Days like saturday in weather which really takes alot of the skill factor away are the games we need to win if we want to win the league. Starting to get a run going now. However so are other sides around us and we have to keep focused and keep improving game by game. It's a long old season and you cant win it yet but you can give yourself a great chance of doing so!

Was Jamie Reid the number 7?? If so he seemed to spend all game hacking away at Bruce Wilson.

Surprised there was any aggro as it didn't seem like that sort of game. Alas I suppose it only takes one idiot to kick everything off.

As has been said many times already this season, a few seasons ago we would have lost this game one way or another. Anyway another fine display from Bully kept the score down in the first half, given the conditions only being 1-0 down at the break was a good result, although I thought we had the better of the game in the 1st half it seemed almost impossible to score down our end of the pitch!

Second half we seemed to dominate in terms of possession and territorially without really creating any clear cut chances. The first goal was great work from Dickens, they were queuing up to meet his cross and the second was a screamer from Seedel. For the 2nd week running the game changed when Richardson came on, he just seems to add another dimension and dare I say he's looking really sharp.

I thought Gavin Smith did well considering it was his first game for a while; he won loads of headers and seemed to bring others into play when he had the ball.

Not too sure if they can get away with saying this on what I assume is an official website!

"I could not work out why 1 lino was applying the offside Law correctly while the other, the dickhead on the Golden Farm side, had no idea and flagged for anything whether the player was active or not. Missed what he surely should have seen, the stamp by Seedel."

"Att: 118 Windsor came by car and it was impressive to see at least a solid dozen or so of their fans turn up, faithfully enduring the rain and wind first half and finally waking up when Richardson had his free header gift."

What an impressive car it was! With a missing sun roof and a roof made out of wood and bathroom sealant. We could hear the water sloshing around just above our heads. Comment of the day has to be Woody as some water trickled down the inside of the car onto him; he remarked "fair enough you've got to expect to get a bit wet when travelling by car".

Last season when we played away at Truro and I slated the officials we got calls from the league more or less demanding that we take down the report. Only time will tell if they continue their stance on slating officials.

It was a...unique trip down and back. To be fair considering we drove through biblical downpours, dispite Mrs Cat and Geggy pointing out the smallest patch of blue sky many many miles away!, only a small amount of water got in to the car and on myself compaired to the Ark like downpours going on. Glass half full and all that!! Must admit when that bit went down the front just after we set off back i thought we were done for!!

As for the comment on the officals, just like the weather, both sides had to put up with them!

I have to say i thought the ref was okay in the first half and just lost it in the second. I was shocked so few cards were dished out with the deterioration of the officiating. The fact the ref missed so much will be missed by any assessor and we will probably get him for Totton away!!!

As for the staming, i did see one of our players have a niggle (possibly a stamp) but that was down in our goalmouth. He shielded the defender away from a ball that Bully was collecting. A foul, but done by every defender and pretty much accepted now. Their player went to ground and had a little kick (probably enough to knock a plastic cup over but nothing more) and our player had a kick back form what i saw. It seemed like there was a lot of frustration in the conditions and this spilled over into petulence from both sides. If waht Malc said it strue about their player and hwat he said (and it was heard by anyone even approcahing officialdom, then you would hope something is done. but alas i doubt anything will be, so we move on.

But a great result, I predicted (or hoped for) 10 points out of teh last four games, and to get 12 is phenominal. If we can keep the same spirit in the team, as I think the quality is unmatched in this division, then we can be serious contenders for champions. But such a long way to go, we all remember last year, so feet firmly on the ground and enjoying each match and hoping we can just keep churning out 3 points.

Oh, and does anyone know how Chenns is, was it a serious injury or brought off as a precaution

""They play 4-3-3 so we matched them up and brought Adam Dickens into midfield. Michael Chennells went off just after half time but it wasn't serious then Marcus came on with 25 minutes to go and we went 3-4-3 and had a real go.""

From the observer website. Hopefully will be okay for saturday but with the options we have up front...perhaps we dont need him as much as we used to.

Also Joe might be back for saturday and Butler, who missed the game due to work saturday, should return.
