A Panglossian view

We are now a third of the way through the season. On Tuesday we will play Thamesmead Town and that will only leave Waltham Forest of the top half of the table that we have yet to play. I missed the Northwood game but reports suggest we were dire - not that they were that good. Lowestoft did not impress as much as East Thurrock United, however, the point I am trying to make is that having played all but two of the 11 clubs in the top half we have only lost 4 games and drawn 4. But of that top half our form against them is played 8 won 1 (Tilbury) drawn 4 lost 3.

 

Of the bottom six we have only played Ware and Redbridge.

 

We are only 2 points behind Wingate and Finchley who are in fourth place. Taking the above into account I consider that we are well poised for a play off place providing we start winning against the better sides. I felt that we should have won yesterday as Lowestoft demonstrated on two occassions that they are Suffolk woosies.

Not too sure about your thoughts on Lowestoft FC Steph. I thought they really looked good and could have had a few more goals due to their possession and hard work. However, it shows what pace can do and our second goal was a shock to them. After that, they had to knuckle down and attempt to retrieve something from the game. Mind you, we had opportunities to put the game to bed.

 

Shame about the crowd - 255. On a better day it could have been over 350. Wonder what it will be when we go there?
