Totally agree with TC.

 

If the fa want players to give referees respect then referee should also respect players, he talked down at players & at times was almost rude to them, so no wonder players react like they do.

 

A good game off football, with both sides fully committted in a local derby & at times good atractive football being played.

 

Johno, it was greg kirkpatrick who was sent off as well as Mattie Everard from the bench & Gav got our equaliser.

chertsey 2-0 croydon

 

very comfortable for chertsey yesterday, but at 0.0 just before the break croydon hit the bar twice in a couple of seconds which could have changed the game, but in the 2nd half 2 typical john pomroy goals, 1 poach and 1 excellant free kick in the bottom corner were enough to see off a hard working croydon side!! now hoping for a nice home tie in the next round.

 

From Trams point of view, I have to fully agree with that assessment. We did work hard, and battled away valiantly all afternoon, but apart from the double-strike against the woodwork just before half-time, we didn't really look like scoring. Unfrotunately with 3 strikers missing through illness suspension and cup-tiedness, we were a bit short up front on Saturday. Don't think it would have made that much difference anyway, as I thought Chertsey's defence was excellent. Once Pomroy broke the deadlock early in the second half, there was only ever going to be one winner, and his second goal was superbly struck - why did he never do that during his brief spell with us!
