Well played to the 2 CCL clubs that got through and commesirations to NGU. Best of Luck to Wembely tomorrow and Badshot Lea on Tuesday.

Camberley very comfortable today and really should have won by a lot more (have to go careful what I say as Mr Finest will be on my back). Dorking battled hard but they are in for a long winter. Best of Luck to them as I have a lot of time for at least 3 people involved with the club. All I would say is don't believe their match report. It could have been 10-3 !!!!

May be somehwere else on here but Sandhurst 1 Ash 1

Even game, Ash finish with 10 men.

Refereee was very picky and I did not like the way he went about his game. Very arrogant in my opinion and I did not like the way he cautioned people. Instead of nicely and camly raising his card, he thrashed it in the air. He also had the buzzing flags. I totally understand why as you do not get 50 shouts of ref when the flag goes up, but I think it is just showing off.

Danny Wilde put us one up then the Ash no.8 was shown a second yellow, and Ash equalised with about 10 to go, but they were many of us who thought there was a foul on our sweeper in the build up which the ref was not in a position to see, but as we see many times, the assistants do not want to make decisions to help the ref.

So you can read it here even before it hits the local press........

Camberley Town 4 (2) Dorking 2 (1)

After Dorking’s heavy defeat at Egham Town the Saturday before last, the last thing Tony Webb and his side probably needed was to have another tricky away game, this time versus league leaders Camberley Town, so it was with a bit of trepidation that the club undertook this tricky fixture against a side who stretched their lead at the top of CCL Premier Division to 5 points with this win.

To be fair to Tony Webb and his team, the side emerged with a lot of credit from that game, the team going down 4-2 in the end against a side who are top of the division on merit having won their last 8 games on the spin in all competitions and being unbeaten now for 11 games.

Chicks battled very well on a heavy pitch after all the rain (the fact the game went ahead at all perhaps surprising most people after the torrential rain we had on the day), with strong performances from the senior players including captain Dan Coote, Roy Newman, Jesse Davis and Dan Clayton. In addition, Martin Waldren got his debut goal for the club, while a full debut was given to young striker Jamie Pendrill alongside Luke Jones in attack in the absence of Joe Loyza on holiday.

Charlie Merrick returned to the squad after a season’s absence, having a solid game at centre back alongside the ever dependable Roy Newman.

The game burst into life on 13 minutes with a spell of three goals in three minutes, when Camberley striker Mitch While shot home from 6 yards. But Dorking were behind for a matter of 60 seconds as straight from the kick off, local lad Martin Waldren surged forward from his full back berth to shoot beyond the Camberley keeper from a full 25 yards to put Dorking back on level terms.

That was not the end of the scoring though, as 2 minutes later, Camberley regained the lead in an unfortunate fashion from the Dorking point of view, Green’s shot, looking to be covered by Dorking keeper Coote, taking a deflection off a defender to leave the keeper wrong footed and the ball in the net.

After that sudden burst of activity, the biggest surprise was that there was no more goals scored, with Camberley on top but Dorking fighting hard to stay in the game.

Camberley must have thought they had done enough to have put the game out of Dorking’s sight on 53 minutes, Kendrick scoring from close range, but unlike at Egham Town the previous week, Dorking’s heads did not drop, and Chicks continued to plug away against the league leaders, despite the home side inevitably having the upper hand in terms of both possession and chances.

Their determination was rewarded when Jesse Davis’s great run down the wing saw Luke Jones set up for a strike on goal, Jones grabbing his second of the season for Dorking to pull the game back to 3-2 with 19 minutes to play.

As in the first half when Dorking pulled themselves back into the game, Camberley quickly killed off any thoughts of an unlikely Dorking come back when Finnieston scored with a diving header just 4 minutes after Jones’s lifeline, taking advantage of a fine deadball delivery into the box, something Camberley had used to good affect all afternoon.. Dorking almost pulled a further goal back for the visitors when sub George Tedder had a hooked shot that just went wide, but the result was never really in doubt, Camberley deserving their three points, but leaving Dorking with pride intact as their young side continues to rebuild after the player departures in recent weeks.

Dorking now play Chertsey at home on Tuesday 17 November, subject to a pitch inspection if the poor weather continues, before two more home games, against Epsom & Ewell on Saturday 24 November.

In other news, Dorking FC’s young Under 18 side went out of the Combined Counties League U18 cup, going down 4-3 at Sandhurst Town on Wednesday night under floodlights in a closely fought game.

Team:-

Dan Coote: Scott Murphy: Martin Waldren: Roy Newman: Charlie Merrick: Andy Davidson: Taylor Mollat: Dan Clayton: Luke Jones:

Jamie Pendrill: Jesse Davis.

Substitutes:-

George Tedder (on for Pendrill: 75 mins).

Shola Elusade - (on for Waldren: 65 mins).

Andy Briant.

chertsey 2-0 croydon

very comfortable for chertsey yesterday, but at 0.0 just before the break croydon hit the bar twice in a couple of seconds which could have changed the game, but in the 2nd half 2 typical john pomroy goals, 1 poach and 1 excellant free kick in the bottom corner were enough to see off a hard working croydon side!! now hoping for a nice home tie in the next round.
