MFC vs Weald\stone

I have a feeling that the safety aspect had as much to do with it as the weather itself. The roofs were lifting off the stands, advertising boards were being pulled from the fences and the trees around Hartsdown were taking a battering. As I walked across Tivoli Park afterwards there were large branches on the ground everywhere. If one of these had come off and hurt a supporter or player there could have been serious repercussions.

It was certainly blowing at 2:40..

5 minutes later wind had died down when Mark Butler came over......

and by 3:05 could see clearly down the length of the pitch...

Feel really sorry for the Wealdstone fans - hope the M2 is reopened soon.

Can fully understand your point Steve...but we all knew what the weather was going to be like,so the game could have been called off much earlier if it was to do with the wind after all we have all played/watched in same weather.IMO the ref could have given a extra 10-15 mins before calling it off.

I whole heartedly agree Tony. The wind was bad enough at 2pm and as we all know, within seconds of the decision it was almost like a spring day (well not quite). A simple decision by the referee at the time to give it 15 mins to settle could have been the difference from us still being there now or being at home with the wife with the threat of her making me do something around the house!

In the ref's defence, he has no access to the fancy Met Office GPS weather systems, so he couldn't have known the weather would change as quickly as it did after he had made that call. So therefore, I think the boos were a little unfair that he got when he left the park...

On the other hand, the weather was horrendous for the whole time I was on the turnstiles, and we were saying down there before 2 o'clock that it should have been called off some time earlier, so if that's why he got booed, fair play boo boys...

But then lets not forget that Ryman League referees can't tell the difference between a foul and a fair tackle, so how are they supposed to get big decisions like that one right?

You 2 are lucky, I'm getting huge amounts of grief for my decision NOT to go over there today. Think my missus was hoping I WAS gonna get hit by a falling branch.

Damned if you do Fred and damned if you don't. Sometimes I feel that there is no pleasing 'em. And when I say sometimes I obviously mean all the time!!!!

Im not a happy bunny it was postponed - agreed the ref could have waited for 15 mins to see. Have waited 6 weeks for a home game - will just have to wait a few more!

You two's are obviously married to the wrong women, my wife was delighted with my early arrival home and promptly prepared a fine dinner followed by a couple of cold ones whilst inquiring what she could do to make me more comfortable.

I put my feet up and drifted off, My only wish was that there couldn't be more saturday afternoons like this one.

That and the fact that the ref was held up in horrific traffic on his journey home!!!

Do you hire her out Brickie? Or can we just do a swap for a few weeks?

To be honest the ref called it right....At the time. What he did do wrong was to postpone straight away,as a few post suggest, he should of giving it 15 min.

I was dissapointed with the no refund and stamping of the ticket, my belief was a full refund BEFORE half time anything over half time then no refund????....Can anyone confirm.

Did watch the first team train after which was interesting, Arrao Lacey and Curtis doing well. There seemed to be a good atmosphere around the squad and they were extremly dissapointed not to have played today.

Still we now await the next league game........................!!
