Race Night Friday 13th November 2009

Just a reminder that we are holding a Race Night at Brimmo in the Main Bar this coming Friday 13th November. Entry is £1.00 with Race card. There will be nibbles, Raffle and of course the Bar will be open. First Race will start at 8.00PM

 

These are usually good events so do hope to see some of you there.

And a good night it was too, with the better part of seven hundred quids in the Donkey Dome kitty. Not bad considering the piffling attendance of three men, a dog and his fleas. Yes, only 24 (TWENTY FOUR!!!) people attended; just think how much we could have raised with a proper crowd.

 

The Dirty Two Dozen did, however, managed to do justice to Squadron Leader's excellent catering. Thanks also to Les and Arkwright for assitance on the night.

I recall engaging in a debate with some of your fans online some years back and the drivel that you spoke as to what a loyal bunch you were. It would now seem that the true colours of some of you are showing through and your gates have dropped - not to mention the attendance at your functions. Hey ho, I wonder how long before you decide to form a new club and pledge your undying alliegiance to it.

The problem that we have at the moment in getting people to attend our Fundraising Functions is that there are a lot of Supporters who do not like the atmosphere at Goldsdown Road and the attitude of SOME of the Brimsdown folk and they will therefore not attend the functions that we hold there. Because we are now Joint Leasholders in Goldsdown Sports we have to hold our Functions there. Having said that most Supporters do assist with Fundraisingt by putting there hands in there pockets.

 

As to the drop in our Gate attendance I guess that has a lot to do with the terrible time we had last Season. I am hopeful that when we do finally move to our New Home at the QE Stadium (which can't come quick enough for me) we will see a significant rise in attendances.

What a shame if true, because the only club they're damaging is the one they supposedly support.
