Just look at the way he destoryed the aussies in the winter he is in the top 5 best batsmen in the world hes just a little out of form probably because he thought his Zimbabwe would be a pile of piss and would jsut have to turn upto score runs.

Nah - it's the curse of the captain. As soon as an England cricketer becomes captain of their national team they become poo. Just look at Atherton, Stewart and Hussein's not been too godd at the crease of late. bit before my time, but weren't Botham and Gower a little lame when they beame cap'n as well?

The responsibility of the job, I guess. Difficult to think of an England captain who has maintained his form while captaining, let alone improving. Some of course were better captains than cricketers, Brearley, Tony Greig, to name but two.
