Hanwell beat Hatfield today 1-0, Hatfields tactics were to put 10 men behind the ball from the halfway line, very disciplined which is a compliment it took a late Pen to win it and the run of draws is ended.

hanwell were lucky today hatfield should have clearly had a pen in first half draw would have been a fair result...

suspensions dont help at all 6 banned today

are you serious? ha ha ha... hanwell was in control for 90mins, all hatfield did was play with 10 defenders and waste time from the 1st min until they fell behind... hanwell also had 5 of there best players out, how you can say hanwell was lucky, you must have been watching a different game.

Hatfield wasted time for 81 mins then Jack ? We nicked all the match balls and booted them on to the A40 as well . Well done to Hanwell for getting the three points , thought we deserved a draw but it wasn't to be .

Horace - No I hadn't noticed that you had deleted me from my friends list, that's disappointing and surely a little childish. Trust me, AFC Dunstable were something special yesterday and I would say they are guaranteed promotion if they continue to play in that fashion, they also seem a very well run Club with teams from Under 7's all the way up and their Reserve side are flying in Division 1.

So, everyone who deletes someone is being childish are they? I'm selective in who I add as my friends and wouldn't have accepted you if you had been using your proper name.

So you've just discovered AFC Dmunstable have you? You remember us discussing Div2 some time ago, when you were scoffing at clubs at that level? .. and how I said there were some strong sides only held back by lack of facilities. AFC Dunstable have been a top side for some seasons and it's no surprise that they are doing well in the very average Div 1.

afc Dunstable look a good side

but Why is Div 1 so very Average, Royston who won it last season, sit top three or four in prem, with basically same team less craig Hammond, cant remember exact figures but arent there 7 or 8 div one teams left in last 16 of the challenge cup, We London Colney have beaten 5 Step 5 sides this season in the Fa cup or vase, From what i have seen this season it is harder to get into the Premier than to stay in it. 3 out of 6 ssml clubs left in the vase are from Div 1. How does that make div 1 average

Sorry to upset you wizola, I'm only going on the games I have witnessed myself, and comparing them with Prem games I've seen, and also Herts Senior County League games (equiv to SSML 2). You present some telling stats though.

Royston were head and shoulders above anyone in Div 1 last season, practically unbeaten, and clearly better than the, dare I say it, average. I wish you well in your attempts to get back into the Prem!

I don't believe there is a vast difference between Div 1 and the Prem. Each division has its strong or in-form teams and you could argue that Prem teams are better established, with better facilities etc. We're not in-form at the moment but with a full squad I believe we would cause a lot of Prem teams problems and we're the 2nd from bottom team in Div 1!

SSML-Division 1, I think this season what we have is a division where anyone on their day is capable of beating anyone, including Brache now they are under new management.

There are no predictable results, and this makes it an exciting division, every team suffers injuries and suspensions and that is the luck of the draw, or bad luck, depending on when it hits you, as said think the last 16 draw for the Challenge Trophy emphasises that point as 50% of the teams are from Division 1, and what London Colney have achieved in other competitions is also validates that point.

For one off cup games I might agree with you. But there is a difference between that and a whole season - and in that I mean that the average higher standard would be telling over many months of league football. It is as much about organisation, training and management as quality of player.

They've had a bad run of results, were missing loads of key players and were away from home - what should the do play 4 upfront and a rush goalie!! I guess you've read the Kevin Keegan guide to tactics!!

According to some players I've spoken to it was a lot closer than you make out.

bEING INVOLVED WITH rOYSTON AND HAVING MADE THE STEP FROM dIVISION oNE TO THE pREM dIVISION i FEEL THAT ANY TOP ten side in division one would hold their own in the Premier Division.

I never felt in division one their was a massive gulf in class between sides nearere the bottom to the top but I feel their is in the Premier Division.

Predictable results in the Premier Division normally show up and very rarely this season have teams nearer the top dropped points against bottom half sides.

I feel the likes of Chalfont, Colney, Broxbourne, Dunstable, Aylesbury, Harefield and Tring (and possibly Royston !!!! a few teams ie Brimsdown etc I havnt seen yet apologies) are all evenly matched and far more advanced then teams at the bottom of the table.

I think it has been mentioned that Divison One games are a lot more difficult to predict and teams have been taking points off another whatever their league position.

No question that whoever gets promoted from Division One would hold their own in the Premier Division but find it hard to sustain a top six position

Nah, don't think you've actually scored in the two games I've seen you play. Saw Ben at Spurs and told him you looking pretty good, he could be a good addition to you defence or midfield....
