Egham Town 8-0 Dorking.

I await the official report with interest!

The match had a strange first half which ended with us two goals up. The Dorking keeper wanted (and got) the game halted because he had not come out with the right boots despite having plenty of time to sort it out beforehand. That was after we had had a perfectly good goal ruled out by a clearly unfit assistant who limped throughout the entire match. He just could not keep up with our forwards; neither could Dorking's "defence". Still, we got a penalty when 5-0 up with the ball probably having just gone out of play. We missed enough chances to win three games, which was a shame as when we shot on target we tended to score. Dorking were, in truth, utterly woeful. Even their chairman said it should have been ten, when at the time we were only 6-0 up. Someone had this coming to them after the two great wins at Banstead (another very poor side at the moment) and Bedfont (can't comment on them; I wasn't there). I am not about to start predicting anything though. 40 years of watching the Sarnies teaches us few mad diehards the dangers of PMT (premature match triumphalism). Still, Matt Graves is not the same player he was when with us last season - thankfully. He grabbed his first Sarnie hat-trick (goals two, three and four) and new man Steve Coultas scored with only his second touch, the first being to control the ball. And Lee Pearce is assuming heroic proportions for us...

Raynes Park Vale 1 Epsom and Ewell 1

I think Dorking would have preferred my predicted result for them. At Grand Drive a fairly sluggish first half was replaced by an exciting second . Vale scored as most spectyators were making their way round from half time so I didn't see how it happened (how Arsene) . Our boys responded by upping the tempo and creating good chances only to find the RPV keeper having a worldy with 4 excellent saves . He was eventually beatren by a Kyle Hough shot about 20 mins from time . We lost Bedj Bedj to an unnecessary double dissent dismissal but still had th upper hand with RPV holding on at the end

Ash's form continues when they come out on top against local rivals Cove. In a tight first half Ash got the breakthrough midway into the half but took full control with two goals in the first 15minutes of the second half, the third goal being one of those pick them out goals, keeper no chance.

Thought the ref had a poor game which didnt help either side. What did you think johno agree or disagree with me?

Teffs, thanks for your reply,so when we have to go to Hartley Witney for a 7.30pm kick off, what would be a reasonable time to leave from Croydon, seeing as it took us 2hrs 45 mins on a saturday due to traffic, arriving at 2.58pm.Yet when i went to watch Badshot lea 2 days later, trip only took 1 HR.

I understand the problem Smudge, what I'm trying to say is if you journey takes on a clear run 1 hour and you allow say a minimum 1 1/2 hours then you've built in a allowance for hold ups, but if you only give yourselves an hour and then get delayed you then that's not clever at all. From your timings above you've allowed at least an hour and a half.

Mid week kick offs are a nightmare, players home and away coming from all directions, all you can do is get there as soon as possible, yes at times you will get done for a late kick off, we did a Badfont last year, real Sh** journey but the following week we where back against Feltham and no traffic issues at all.

You want to try Gosport on a Monday night followed by Taunton on the Saturday, all for the sake of just 2 points  Decent league though, we are enjoying ourselves and the lads have competed brilliantly so far against some very strong sides which is a testament to the strength of the CCL

I think HW must have the biggest squad in the CCL, as they are constantly missing 5/6/7/8 first team regulars, yet still put out a full squad and a reserve side!!!

Good win for Cobham at Bedfont Sports who never really threatened our goal and we could/should have scored at least a few more with the chances we created. Still the 3 points is what we wanted and made even better considering 2 of our starters only got there 5 min before k.o!!

Have to say it was the first time at BS and v impressed with the pitch (excellant surface if a little heavy after all the rain, but then again most pitches will be) and the facilities they have (new 3G astro for training and new clubhouse, changing rooms going up). Will be one of the best set ups imo when finished and something to be proud of.

Once with one of my old teams, we went to Grantham (South Lincolnshire) and the coach driver went 6 junctions too far on the motorway and we ended up running 1hr 15 mins late. It was hammering it down and we were calling all the way to make sure the game would still be on. The ref said if we got there for 3pm, we would go with a 3.30 kick off. Another downpour happened just before we arrived at about 5 to and as we stepped off the coach we heard over the tannoy that the game was off!!!

Egham Town 8-0 Dorking.

I await the official report with interest!

Sorry for the delay, folks. The Other Half is ill in bed with severe bronchitis.

I wasn't at the game, but here is the report that has recently been forwarded to me:-

"Dorking suffered a very heavy defeat on Saturday as a young side went down to a rampant Egham Town on Saturday.

Manager Tony Webb will be working hard to rally his team, with a number of new signings lined up to appear in Chicks next fixture, away at Camberley Town and Webb will be holding a practice game on Wednesday as he seeks to familiarise the recent influx of new players with the spine of his team. Without making any excuses for an overwhelming loss, the heaviest Dorking defeat for a decade, Webb will argue that the team that played on Saturday was something of a transitional side as he seeks to cope with the loss of some of last season’s established squad, many of whom have left Meadowbank effectively to take up offers from other clubs where expenses were offered, something Dorking FC are unable to offer as Chicks rightly seek to concentrate on the club’s ground maintenance and improvement obligations under its lease.

Missing full backs Paul West and Jesse Davis through suspension and injury respectively, Webb chose to push centre back Scott Murphy into an unaccustomed midfield position and for the first half an hour, Dorking competed well, certainly showing no signs of the ultimately heavy defeat the side were to suffer.

But two goals just after the half hour mark from Egham from Rowley on 33 minutes then Graves on 35 minutes turned the complexion of the game. Dorking managed to make it to half time only 2-0 down, and for the first 15 minutes of the second half got a foothold back into the game, playing their best football of the game. Once more Dorking pressed the self destruct button, as two goals on the hour mark from Graves to collect his hattrick put the game out of sight for Chicks.

At 4-0 down, with 25 minutes to go, Dorking’s young team seemed to let their heads go down, the older players like Captain Dan Coote, Dorking’s best player on the day with some stunning saves in the final third of the game, and Roy Newman unable to influence the younger teammates. Goals on 71 minutes from Coultas, a penalty on 76 minutes from Muldowney, a second from Muldowney on 82 minutes and an eigth goal for Egham at the death rubbed salt into the Dorking wounds and inflicted an embarrassing defeat on the club.

Dorking now travel to high flying Camberley Town on Saturday seeking to restore some pride to the club.

In other fixture news, Dorking’s Surrey Senior Cup home fixture versus Conference South Side Woking will be played at Meadowbank on Tuesday 8th December, 7-45 kick off.

TEAM:-

Dan Coote

Warren Goodyear

Shola Elusade

Paul Guy

Roy Newman

Andy Davidson

Taylor Mollatt

Scott Murphy

Joe Loyza

Dan Clayton

Luke Jones

SUBS:-

Henry Keminde

Martin Waldren

Alistair Moore

Dean Guy"

Croydon Municipal 3 v 2 Chobham not much of a game today at the Arena,Municipal were 3-0 up but a late sustained rally by Chobham pulled back 2 goals, and they had a late shout for a penalty turned down.I must say I am personally becoming disillusioned with this League, yet on another occassion an Official failed to show up.Will he be reported and fined.Whereas Chobham who had problems in traffic getting here, and arrived late will be reported to the LEAGUE THRO NO FAULT OF THEIRS for being late.

Wattsy,

That's a weird jinx of these 5-2 home defeats! Thought you'd beat them comfortably today....

Thought wrong mate, however having said that i think the team thought they would but you cannot excuse poor decision making and poor defending, we were simply not good enough today and have not been at the races at all this season and no where near like last season. The strange thing is the squad this season is more or less the same as last season.

Today we missed the influence of Ian Savage and Stephen Greene, both away, having said that on paper we should have enough quality to do better then we are at present with or without them. Our home form is rubbish, in each game we have lost at home we have lost by 3 goals or more, not good enough if you want to be challenging for honours.

The only one's to come out of today's performance with any pride was the skipper Nick Darnell and Mark Tomlinson

To put it a nutshell - Today was not exceptable

Knapmeister - Baker did not score, Nick Darnell got both!

Rant and Moan Over, now back to normal life!!!

NO SYMPATHY WHEN YOU HAVE A MANAGER LIKE YOU DO - DOES HE ACTUALY DO ANYTHING APART FROM SMUG REMARKS TO OTHER MANAGERS? EVERYONE KNOW SAVAGE RUNS THE SHOW DOWN THERE
