Slough Town v Rothwell Town

Finished 4-1 - great match to watch today - there was a 15 minute spell in the second half where we played the best we have all season.

Very difficult to pick a man of the match today, Rob Kean had a cracking game today, as did Harps and Hibbert - I think Hibbert might just edge it for me, but only just.

Well done boys - I think that makes us third in the league on goal difference.

Fantastic performance by the team, its a shame we conceded early but once we levelled it was all Slough.

I would go for MOTM to Robbie Kean who played very well and got himself an excellent goal in the process, but it was a great all round game and every player played very well.

Up to 3rd, one more goal and we could have gone second but who can complain with a 4-1 win!

Good luck to the boys in the next 2 games, unfortunately I cannot be there for either, but they are crucial if we are to stay up there.

Good game with all players playing well and with confidence and now not scared to have a shot.

It was nice to see the youngsters wearing the Slough colours and enjoying themselves - this is why the club needs to be back in the town.

With the return of the injured players there is no reason to fear any team in this leauge.

Excellent performance I thought. After the goal they created nothing and Perks had nothing to do, thought the defence was very good and NBH back to his best. We made Rothwell look ordinary to say the least, however they are not sitting second in the league for nothing, so full credit to the whole side.

Very encouraging also to see Tyron and Sincs back in the fold. We'll need all our players back over this period and hopefully the injuries have gone away now. Hopefully Martin will be back Tuesday and Herron not too far away as well. Thought Leon had by far his best game for us this season, hope we can extend that loan for another month.

Also great to see the kids there. Well done to the STSA or whoever organised that and hopefully it can continue.

We've done great today, but Tuesday is another biggy.

Forget the scoreline, even at 2-1 this was easily our most accomplished performance of the season. For once we looked in control, comfortable in possession and able to create chances. 4-1 did not flatter us at all. An all round brilliant performance from the whole team.

For the first 15 minutes we weren't at the races and Rothwell could have been at least 2 up, but we showed great character and played with confidence and most importantly belief, and that has been missing for some time at Slough.

It was great to see the players running rings around Rothwell for that 15 minute spell during the second half where we went 4-1 up, it could have ended up 6 or 7-1!

Great second half display..felt we were cruising along and played some real good football along the way...all credit to

the back four ...they really just moped up everything , allowing the mid field and forwards to concentrate on the flow forward..

a pleasure to watch today...

great athmosphere in the second half, thanks to the Langley Marish school ...hope they had a great day out with the Rebels..

The attendence was good , as poor Rothwell did not bring anyone except for the officials..and with the school and other guests

if they had been included our attendence would be nearer 300 today...not bad...at all...

where did Burnham get there 153 from today ??? last week it was 50 odd for a fa trophy game ...

Congratulations to our 500 draw winners today :

1st Prize Ted Jones wins £125-00

2nd Prize Warren Carter wins £60-00

3rdPrize Sophie H wins £60-00

well done to our montly draw winners....

up the rebels...........

I'm not sure why people keep pointing to other clubs and their attendances. Rothwell for example has a population of about 7,500. Woodford I believe even less, around 3,500. Not sure how many live in Burnham. But of course none of these clubs are going to bring fans, that's just a fact. If we keep doing well, we can push our average up to about 300 but we should be doing better. I have to say, I don't think moving to Beaconsfield has helped in that regard.

Anyway, another very pleasing win today. Going into the game, Rothwell were second and people have raised their concerns that we haven't been beating the better sides in the league. I think today must have been an off-day for them but we controlled the game superbly and snuffed out every threat they offered, which was great to see.

People have said their goal was a good yard or two offside, but despite this very early setback, the players bounced back brilliantly.

Tuesday will be another massive test and a we can offer a clear signal of intent to the rest of the league if we can beat Chesham, who I think will be up there challenging with Hitchin and probably Burnham for the title.

Really good to see Sealey and Sinclair on the pitch at the end, and that news of Martin's injury is positive - though I thought Tommy Hayes did a superb job today, in the right place at the right time to score one, and then with two assists from corners.

Also I think Kean had probably his best game for Slough today and was my MOM.

Great performance by all the players in outclassing a team who were 2nd before the start of the match.

The players linked up well, and if it wasn't for an outstanding performance by their keeper, there would have been a few more goals.

As others have said, it was great to see Marish Primary under 11's at the game, especially as they out sung the regulars in the second half giving the game a really good atmosphere.

This has got to get the players confidence up for the trip to Chesham on Tuesday night.

Really enjoyable day of football - the best i have seen Slough play for a long time, we literally took Rothwell apart at times. Find it very hard to pick a MOTM, what about Marish Primary!?

I was disapointed with todays gate, but with more work by the Trust supporting schools (another reason for people to join) and getting youngsters along, as well as the team playing great football, people will come back. Oh, and cheers to Mark B for picking my runners up ball in the 500 draw - a slap up sunday roast in a pub loams for my family!

Matt.... the reason behind attendances is that Crowds make athmosphere ...helps to bring more people along to games ! especially when we

play like yesterday in the second half / just take yesterday with the school children from Langley Marish helped the athmosphere and

they had a great day out with us all...the point is That Slough's attendences are not brilliant , but remember most of our supporters

have been on the road for years now ..travelling up 15-20 miles round trips for a home game ! and we have no ground and we have some

brilliant supporters that travel more than a 100 miles round trip...for home games.

Attendences are part and parcel of the game of football , everyone looks at the attendances in the paper , just to have a reflection

on how teams are doing, in some cases some teams that are playing well dont get crowd increases, yet at Slough if we were to be promoted and get a move back into our home town, we will increase our attendences ...thats for sure , while other could win the league and get no extras...

thats the point...

make of it as you want ! cheers chris
