Cakes tasted great until after half time.

Same old story really.

80% of the ball first half 40% after.

JK got caught in possession twice --they scored twice.

POSITIVES

Excellent fist half but did not create enough chances. Penalty buried. Stubbs and Lacy very good. Q good fisthalf then faded.

Terrific turn out of Gate fans perhaps fifty or more --- run out of cakes

Good tea and bovil

Lovely Autumn weather

NOT GOING TO SPOIL MY ANNIVERSARY DAY SO SOMEONE ELSE CAN DO NEGATIVES.

NEGATIVES

Only 1 really No bl00dy strikers

Sorry second negative Defensive errors but not from defenders.

Finally if Hastings are the second best team in this league then I must be a Madriano Real Fan.

I thought you played well against us today and am sure you are not going to struggle like you did at the end of last season.

It's beyond most of us too why we are 2nd in the league, but we are. Guess the longer this goes on ,then we and the players will believe that we may make the play offs.

To be honest after the last two seasons I will be just happy making the top half. We rae probably not ready for promotion anyway.

Dont know what it is about our home form but we dont shine.

There is a theory that our pitch is in such good condition that other teams thrive on it when they get here.

What did any of your fans think of the pitch ?

I think the game changed when Sam Adams came on . He should bnever have been on the bench . Maybe the boss tried a few mind games and they worked

Hard luck anyway and good luck for the rest of the season

Coaster HUFC

Oh yeah by the way , I tought our fans made a difference in the second half . Maybe the 12th man syndrome ?

I thought that we did well first half and I would have been pleased with 0-0,so to go in 1-0 up was a bonus and a good platform to build on after the break. We had no shots on target but we hadn't conceded so that was good.Unfortunately we had no shots on target in the second half either but this was more down to lack of creativity from midfield bacause the strikers were not getting the service.I thought that JK was going to be our saviour in midfield but as others have said at the moment this is not happening. We missed countless tackles and to be honest they cut us apart in the 2nd half and could have won 5-1.Nobody else has mentioned him but our new keeper made 3 great goal line saves to keep us in the match and I was very impressed.Unfortunately when the goalie is MOM that is not a good sign.

First half was virtually a non-event.... can't really remember either team having any clear-cut chances. Debatable penalty, but well-despatched nevertheless. Second half they absolutely dominated us - it was very much backs to the wall. Having said that, both goals came from our errors, which is always hard to take. Perhaps the turning point was Robbo's effort in the second half which was surely only inches away. If that had flew in, it could have been a very different game. Having said that, if we had lost 5-1, we probably couldn't have complained. Right result in the end.

Tactics-wise, I personally thought the full-backs were too advanced, and were far too often caught out up the pitch when Hastings were attacking. Away from home - with the system we play - I would rather see them sitting back. The sad reality is that most of this team is probably just not good enough, and I think the gaffer will realise now what a mountain of a task he has.

As an aside, I see George Jermy scored twice for the Met Police today. Good luck to the lad.

mike has hit the nail on the head ,most of our team is not good enough if we keep this lot we will be relegated this season but thank goodness we have a new manager who im sure will adress this .youth is not the answer it has been tried and failed ,one or two youngsters is ok but in lower league football experience counts for everytrhing

Is this the same experience that has seen John Keister cost us 3 goals in the last 2 games? He is a highly experienced international player, who is making the mistakes that are leading to goals. Experience isnt everything Steve, it just helps.

Maybe i am in cloud cuckoo land, but i still believe individually-the players are good enough-just need some better organisation and game plan.

Not at the game-but can see the sense in the posting about the full bcks playing too far upfild.

Defenders should defend.

The other thing is that most keep on about our 'young' players but we do not have many young players.

A player who is 22 (as most are, or older ) is not young.

Good cake Geoff, thank you.

I know for some people he is God like but, for me he was the big disappointment of the day, it was John Keister.

I had heard so much about how he was cool on the ball, was spraying it around ect. This is only the second time I had seen him, unfortunately he does not seem to have the pace for this level any more. it was back to the old days, don't take the time to look, hoof it. Sometimes it goes were you want it, others it goes straight up or even slices left or right.

I am sure the wages we are paying as a player could be better spent else where.

There are 2 old sayings:

You should never live in the past.

You should never go back.

I think people are being a bit harsh on JK. For the second goal where it has been suggested he gave the ball away, he just didn't get a shout and the bloke came in behind him and nicked it off him. You need the support of those around you in midfield - he can't do it on his own.
