Capital League Last Night

A young Urchins side made up mostly of players from Larry Pattison's Youth Team earned a hard fought 1 - 0 victory away at Potters Bar last night. The game was settled in the 25th minute when Frankie Williams skipped past a couple of challenges and sent a firm drive from just outside the box against the left-hand upright. Chris Charlery was on hand to tuck the ball home.

 

This was an excellent all round team performance and it would be unfair to single out anyone for particular praise. They all did themselves proud.

 

This game was made all the better to watch by the way it was run by Referee John Taverner. He was always up with play, his decision making was excellent, he let the game flow and played the advantage whenever possible. All in all, probably the best performance I have witnessed by a Referee at this level in a long while.
