the forum at work for me now runs mega slow. I dont like this format at all. from the front screen you used to be able to see the number of unread messages on each forum since your last visit , now you have to go and look at every forum to find out . Its rubbish

You can still see if there are new posts in a forum, by the indicators.

 

I am seeing no speed issues - what skin are you using? What browser / Operating System?

I am using Windows XP with IE6, as this is a work PC there is nothing I can do about that. Not sure what you mean by what skin, but it would be the default skin as I haven't changed anything. At home I use Vista and do not have any probs with speed etc.

 

What indicators? With the old format, you could see a list of "latest topics" and "latest posts" without having to go to those forums.

 

Please try not to take any critique of the forum format personally, it's just that there is a noticeable drop in posts and I find it harder to navigate round. I think everyone recognises the excellent work you do.

People I meet in the footy world do say that this site is so very much slower than before the change.

 

I purposely haven't commented on this, as our cp system is antiquated by todays standards, though we are getting a new one in a few days.

 

If people are accessing this site from their works stations, (and I CAN'T possibly believe that they do), there might be a speed issue, unless their works computers are antiquated too !

Sorry I meant MSA < Mauritius Sports > apparently they have changed the whole coaching staff and most of the players will leave as they lack the required Physical standards of the ESL.

They are also getting a lot of money an MSA will become a real semipro club in the ESL.

Because the new format is pants and very, very slow!!! Though that could just be the office broadband.

since my post above, I have upgraded the forums to the latest version, which should have helped.

 

Also we will be switching to the the skin of 'Clean Cut' - this is already available and might well make things faster for you.
