So quite these days, since the format changed it don’t seem so lively anymore, its time we all got used to it and start posting back on here more regularly.

the forum at work for me now runs mega slow. I dont like this format at all. from the front screen you used to be able to see the number of unread messages on each forum since your last visit , now you have to go and look at every forum to find out . Its rubbish

I am seeing no speed issues - what skin are you using? What browser / Operating System?

I am using Windows XP with IE6, as this is a work PC there is nothing I can do about that. Not sure what you mean by what skin, but it would be the default skin as I haven't changed anything. At home I use Vista and do not have any probs with speed etc.

 

What indicators? With the old format, you could see a list of "latest topics" and "latest posts" without having to go to those forums.

 

Please try not to take any critique of the forum format personally, it's just that there is a noticeable drop in posts and I find it harder to navigate round. I think everyone recognises the excellent work you do.

You need to get work to upgrade beyond IE6 - or run an alternative browser (firefox, Chrome etc.) - many sites no longer support IE6 fully. Some do not support it full stop.

 

The skin is the dropdown bottom left. I think you are on the default - so should be no issues there, currently Blue Flight - but changing shortly.

Problem is that 99% of what existed before, exists now - maybe in a different way. I had no choice but to change - and I did display a test site for 2 months, which nobody complained about.

 

I accept users of IE6 may suffer slightly - but as internet explorer is now at version 8 and operating system at Windows 7, we can't keep the site working on every old browser that is out of date. We do try though.

can i please have my arm back. Monster sized bite . I was only making an observation. I wouldnt have a clue about skin apart from my own , I use the forum at work like most other people on here , so i was just amking a general observation which hookster for one agreed with. I loved the old style forum. You could go away for two weeks , come back , and instantly know there had been however many new posts on a certain forum. finding new posts on here is much more time consuming now.

 

Keep up the good work though Ian , im not blaming you personally or anything.
