Chill out, Col!

No worse than the "old classic" about Tom performing Yesterday's Man and claiming it as his own. After all, you "dig out" that one to the point of boredom.

Hardly mate, the tv station is something that will change my life and something you know i've been excited about since it came about, making fun of something like that is what I expect but don't compare it saying Tom Fenton covers your records when he's never actaully done it and you know that, to compare it would be like you lot saying that i never come out because of my girlfriend to compare what you're doing with the tv station it's like saying ha ha it's really funny that gertcha has failed all his exams.

While we are here why not dig out the last post on here that I mention Fenton covereing your tracks?

Myself (I am the Tony de la Fou talked of in this thread) and EFM Sniffer etc had a chat with Eddie Curry (aka Paul Goldfinger) last night at the Jim Bob gig. We discussed our differences quite well (no stabbings) until Mr Leslie Johns was introduced to Eddie.

When told Leslie Johns was our travel/weather reporter on the drive time show Eddie morphed into Paul and said, "I couldn't listen to your drive time show, it made me too angry".

Chew on this one in relation to the above posts (albeit two years old now).

I think our hangover show return has been curtailed. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/afro.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

You were so drunk last night Tony that I'm amazed you can recall any of the conversation. Certainly too drunk to notice that my comment about being angry was a joke. In fact Leslie Johns improved your show.

Like I said elsewhere, it's all water under the bridge, I don't give a [****!!****] about all this any more and I doubt anyone on here does either.

unfortunatly two of my friends have decided to revive this thread, it's understandable as they really struggle to come up with anything original these days but please don't tell Leslie John what you just said, he will become unbeareable <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

LOL Eddie/Paul.

I wasn't drunk, just excited. I don't get out much now I've a wee child (3 and bit) to look after and another on the way.

Sorry for the miscommunication but you've not contacted myself or Colin in 7 months (since Gatti Gang in Brixton in Feb) when you suggested a return of the hangover show.

Interesting. I hate to break this to you but did you perhaps dream me saying that to you?

Hope that helps explain why I haven't been in touch with you lately.

Errrr. Who are these people Thornsy? Do you know them? Are you sure? Bunch of luvvies, mate. Probably confused about their sexuality. Its rife in that industry Col. Drop 'em.

Anyway, Thornsy. Here is one for you.

I've come straight into the office from the Ministry of Sound [as you do]. On the way out last night, we took in a gig, as you do. Went to the Alban Arena and, man, you should have been there.

Second billing was the Animals. two of the 'original' members, John Steele on drums and someoneorother Gallagher on keyboards, although, as you will know being my music guru, the keyboards bloke was on the first European tour but then went back to school to finish his O levels [yes!] and rejoined 35 years later. Johnny 'Mr Guitar' Williamson was on lead guitar and the singer has been with them a few years now. Looked and sounded like Eric Burdon.

Anyway. They were pretty good.

Then it was the Zombies. Fabulous live Thornsy. You got to see these people. All local, of course featuring the legend that is Jim Rodman on bass and his son Steve on drums. That boy can play. [imagine going on tour in a band with your Dad. Sex, drugs and rock & roll without the sex and drugs, presumably].

Rod Argent is something else on the keyboard and Colin Blunstone's voice is as ever.

They reformed 3 years ago and have done 3 tours of the USA including Japan and, of course, the UK. They have produced 3/4 albums during this period, one of which is live. Great reviews in the Times and The Sun [whatever the 'Sun' is?] apparently.

[You've probably got their album Odyssey and Oracle from '67, Thornsy. Came in at 80 on the US Billboard Top 500 of all time in 04]

You would have loved it Thornsy. Drop these media wannabe luvvies and stick with the music, mate.

He hasn't, but I certainly have, AFF. It's in my Top 20 albums of all-time (see thread from a few months back!)

Colin. Sorry if any offence was caused. But did you ever really believe any of that TV stuff was going to happen? Honestly? If so, then fair play to you, I guess.

Have I missed something here ? Which exams did I fail ? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Glad to see you are finally admitting to be under the thumb though.

I'm afraid not, AFF. Didn't realise it was on, actually, otherwise I may have taken a look in, but my gig-going days are on hold at the minute, since the arrival of Zeal jr!

A brilliant album, though. Recorded, I believe, at Abbey Road around the same time as Sgt Pepper and Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, but much lesser known.

It's a shame - there are some wonderfully psychedelic classics on it. Very few bands were able to fuse melody and psychedelia quite as well as the Zombies.

Emily Rose and Beechwood Park the stand-out tracks for me. Oh, and Time Of The Season, of course.

I think that it was recorded at Rickmansworth, Zealster, but then G. Angel would know. You would like their latest live album. I'll get one of the lads to cook it for you if you like.

Zealster. You could have walked home from the gig with Jim Rodman. He still lives locally. Carried his guitar.

I bet you're missing your youth. I feel the end of mine appearing on the distant horizon.
