Plus points:

Progress (+ cash) in the FA Trophy

Won at home

Didn't conceed

Danny Green took his goals well

Harrison finally got part of a game

er......that's it!

Minus points:

For much of the game looked little better than our lower league opponents

Macca excepted, the distribution from the back all night was the good old hoof it forward

Pond and Hall had games to forget

There felt a general air of disinterest in proceedings throughout the ground for long periods

Dismal attendance

Antoine - sorry but even when you are a late substitute in a game already won you are supposed to take some part

Happy that the club has got through but saw little else to suggest any corners are starting to be turned just yet

Apart from mistaking Antoine for Chatting I think John M's posting was spot on.

Given that we haven't won a game since September, I'd happily take anything at the mo! Starting XI didn't inspire much confidence but they knuckled down and got us thru the tie. Missing Shinn, Bricknell, Dumas and with Oates appearing to go off injured, we desperately need some good news on the transfer front before Saturday. Hitchin won again tonight, that's 8 wins out of 9 in the league (they're top) and 7 straight wins overall! Gulp!

For me, weather there were negatives or not, a win is a win, and something we havnt had in a while. I thought we deserved to win, apart from some shakey moments in defence, Barton didn't really produce that much.

For me, Baker was MOTM, he has been improving in every game, and tonight was the best he has played for us, and showed what he is capable of. However Danny Green also played well, as did Cousins, but overall it we never gave up and kept going which was good to see. I think this game put pressure on the players and management, but we came through it, obviously some nerves will show because there was going to be a low level of confidence between the team, but hopefully this will boost them and we can push on.

Fair play to all concerned both on the pitch and in the background.

Tonight was a bit of a pressure match yet another replay and confidence pretty low.

As mentioned above some good play from the lad's and for me it was refreshing to see Baker smile and seem to enjoy the game as it went on.

I thought Luca played a good game also and nice to see Harrison Chatting getting stuck in during the 2nd half.

Well done lad's 1st of many win's i hope.

Back to the League now and some distance from that bottom spot would be nice.

Certainly happy that we got through to the next stage. I guess our third goal was the pick of the bunch purely for individual run from Wareham, although Greens second was a very good finish. Lets hope the players can build on this, but we must remember we were (no disrespect) playing a team from a lower level and also struggling like us. Carshalton will offer a more robust test. I actually thought we played some ok stuff, but maybe we were afforded more space from the opposition.

Well we are into the next round and that will be extremely tough against Hitchin, but surely the incentive is there for the players/management that we "could" pick out a plum draw against a top connie side "if" we got through.

But for now it is league points that are paramount. Joint bottom a week into November is not gonna bring folk through those gates.

But anyway, well done for getting into the next round and a little extra cash.

Come On Town !

Great to see a win, an improvement on last Saturday and recent games but still a way to go.

Following Bognor's win last night, we now desperately need points in the league so pressure is still on for the Carshalton match and beyond.

OMG was it cold last night or was it cold? But a stiff drink at full time fixed it :coffee (2): . Have to say it felt nice going home having srored 3 goals.

Tricky dicky Green played really well and couple of the other lads, and so did the home grown crops :peace: , BUT!!!!

without poo pooing the results last night I am a little concern on how we look :frown: and for whats in store for us in the games coming up.

Also i wish the management would stop barking at the the players non stop.

Give you a clue?? It made us jump to attention every time and we were on the other side of the pitch :bartshocked: .

But overall on the night Well done Lads.

A win at last and without conceeding, well done lads.

Not a great performance but some good plus points and obviously still some not so good.

Defence a little shaky at times but Macca was Mr Reliable as always.

Luka and Baker up front both did well and Danny Green, well 2 goals will do him and the team a power of good. For me the 3rd goal was a peach, great run by Dave Wareham. Good to see Harrison getting a run out and I hope he continues to be given the opportunity he deserves as he's got great potential.

Hope this is a great confidence boost for all concerned and I'm hoping for a more solid performance and a similar result on Saturday.

A win is a win, and we'll take that, thanks

I'm surprised by comments on Hall - I thought he had a big controlling influence on the midfield and, apart from his second half free kick troubling the cricket ground, didn't think he did much wrong.

Baker again looked good and, despite constant niggling tackles from behind, Frankis put himself about a lot.

I'd like to see Frankis have a continued run to see if he can cope at this level on a regular basis.

Green was far more effective than on saturday, and deserved his 2 goals.

"Also i wish the management would stop barking at the the players non stop."

Really? I wouldn't.

Its good to see the management getting involved and showing a bit of enthusiasm.

Bring on Saturday for the 6th in our run of games without a defeat, and the 2nd in our run of clean sheets!

Definitely a step in the right direction with a result and scoreline that should build confidence ahead of some important league games ahead.

The number of injuries building up again is a worry. Hopefully there'll be a few bodies fit before Saturday or some new faces arrive.

A welcome win and in my view a thoroughly deserved one.

We put out a very young/inexperienced team and in contrast to John M I felt that we looked a lot better than them for most of the game. We worked really hard last night and that was the catalyst for our victory. The new players or more senior players returning from injury have to look to replicate that kind of work rate otherwise they may find themselves out of the side.

I don't see how Pond and Hall could have had games to forget when we totally dominated that area of the pitch and in particular I felt Hall was very influential - a welcome return to form after Saturday and the same could be said for Danny Green.

However MotM for me was Baker. I thought he was outstanding last night - everything you could have asked for for a foward of his type at this level. I was so pleased he got his goal at the end.

I agree that there will be tough challenges ahead but through to the next round, three goals, a clean sheet and cash in the bank - that will do for me.

Come on you Blues!!!
