He was the pick of a very strong field that began with around 40 applicants. It's a very exciting time for us. Mark did a great job, but chose to move on, so now we have to do the same.

 

Jamie is the first non-internal appointment as First Team Manager for some years and I think he'll be a breath of fresh air.

I think you will agree that our club and fans have handled Mark Butlers sudden departure with alot of decorum. Jamie's extensive contacts network would have been a big plus in the eyes of our board. It was something Mark was struggling with, and why, at the start of the season, he re-structured our backroom staff, in the hope of more contacts.

Looking forward to the game on Saturday. Have noticed that they will be without their first choice keeper Greg Nessling, who is suspended for one game, so every little helps.

He's probably relieved after letting in 4 last saturday against Ashford,Middx. See Harrison(2) and Johnson(1)

scored 3 of the 4.

Wonder if they will be with us this saturday back at Hastings !!

Yeah we are a funny team . Frustrating really as we play well away but crap at home , especially at the back for some reason. Lost 6-1 to Merstham in the Trophy, who themselves lost 6-1 to Tonbridge last week .Then we go and get decent away results.

 

Love it when you lot come over to us, you bring some atmosphere. Dont forget yer drum , you could show our little boy how its done, he's awful

 

Whats happened to big Nev ? Has he left you lot ?

You know he was our boss for a bit ? Helped beat Dover 4-0 once so wont forget him for that.

Hastings United are a bit of a bogey side for us - haven't won in our last 5 games against them and have lost 4 of those. Last win at Hastings United was 2.10.82 when we were Thanet United and that was an FA Cup tie. Last league win at Hastings United was 9.12.80 and that was also the last time we won there as Margate. We did manage to win 2-1 at Hastings Town (same ground) on 16.11.97 but that was the only win in our last 7 games against Town.

 

 

Sorry Jeff . Guess the wait goes on !!! You deserved the first half lead as we were really bad. But second half we dominated most of it and Sam Adams turned the game for us when he came on
