Hastings on Saturday

Looking forward to the game on Saturday. Have noticed that they will be without their first choice keeper Greg Nessling, who is suspended for one game, so every little helps.

Agree, been too long since we had a game! Going to be a real tough game. Couldn't get much more of a baptism of fire for the new gaffer with Hastings away and Wealdstone at home. Still, famous last words I know, but I've got a good feeling about the game, and reckon we could nick something.

How about having a prediction thread? We haven't had one in a while. So I'm going for a 1-1 draw, which I would be more than happy with. Nice little set-up down there so I'm looking forward to a good game. Come on you blues!

He's probably relieved after letting in 4 last saturday against Ashford,Middx. See Harrison(2) and Johnson(1)

scored 3 of the 4.

Wonder if they will be with us this saturday back at Hastings !!

Hastings United are a bit of a bogey side for us - haven't won in our last 5 games against them and have lost 4 of those. Last win at Hastings United was 2.10.82 when we were Thanet United and that was an FA Cup tie. Last league win at Hastings United was 9.12.80 and that was also the last time we won there as Margate. We did manage to win 2-1 at Hastings Town (same ground) on 16.11.97 but that was the only win in our last 7 games against Town.

Browsing the Hastings forum I stumbled across this regarding their 4-4 draw with Ashford

I think Josh proved himself to be an excellent shot stopper with a couple of brilliant first half efforts but clearly (appropriately for halloween) he's terrified of crosses and totally failed to dominate in the air !

Could be useful if we can take advantage.

Er, no, they won't. Johnno's definitely staying, and Byron has apparently worked with our new manager before which is one of several factors that should help us to keep him.
