A bit of a trek to Barton to watch a poor game, we did have the odd moment of decent play but missed a couple of opportunities, Shinn’s goal was good.

 

But, we didn’t lose and can get the win on Tuesday.

Lack of interest from the management, across the team and amongst the fans is deeply worrying. We have the look of an already relegated team and I sense that the fans have lost the heart to fight for better.

People were playing football behind the goal in the second half cause it was that terrible! We could have lost today and I would think a lot of fans would have just shrugged their shoulders and been relieved at not having to watch another 120 mins and penalties on Tuesday! Barton, barring a couple of good forwards were a pub team and they could have turned us over, that is how poor the quality of our team has become. Things aren't improving, they are getting worse.

Us fans once again travelled in force today, and clearly out numbered the home following yet we the fans continue to be ignored and look to have lost the spirit to call for change. We need action to stop the downward spiral and we need it fast. Any ideas??????

It was a poor effort against a very poor side. I did say at half time that not even us could let this one slip. Silly me. It breaks my heart to see a side representing Billericay perform with such complete indifference. Bricknell apart (who worked hard without really threatening) it just looked like we were going through the motions on the field,on the sidelines and on the terraces for that matter.

 

Children on the pitch at half-time with the subs (WTF!), players and staff apparently displaying far more energy after the game than during it, as Patriot said things don't seem to be getting any better.

 

I am gutted for our non-playing management team and volunteers who continue to put in obscene amounts of effort (and money) into our Club and don't get the rewards they deserve. It's very easy to sit on the outside and call for change but a lot harder to sit on the inside and effect it.

 

At least we are still in this competition though and if we play to anywhere near our potential we WILL win the replay on Tuesday. Come on lads!!

I agree with eveything above. Another struggle against a side at the wrong end of a level below us. But for a missed sitter towards the end we'd be out the Trophy too.

 

It was a bit of a makeshift backline but overall a very worrying performance and not much to take heart from.

Absolutely shocking! We didn't even look like the Ryman team!!!! However I have to give credit to Barton, the definately deserved to get a draw, and if it wasn't for their own player blocking the ball, they would have won it. Some say, at least we are still in it, which is true, but if things don't improve on Tuesday, I can see us going out.

 

Somebody bring this nightmare to an end!!

Sad to say i also agree with most of the above, At one point i was unsure if i should watch the Billericay fan's playing football behind the goal or the game we paid to watch.

 

Billy as ever ran his socks off and i was impressed at about 15 min's in when we stepped up a notch and scored (just go's to show they can do it.)

The difference for me between the two teams yesterday is Barton played as a team (albeit a pretty average team) and we however did not. well not for 90 min's.

 

On the "Brightside" as mentioned in another thread " Finished 2-2 not a bad result should get the job done at home is now 4 games unbeaten deffo on a roll "

 

So let's hope us fan's can get behind the lads on Tuesday after all, regardless of who is in the team they are still Billericay Town

I can't disagree with how poor it all was, but would like to put in a quick word for James Baker.

I thought he had an excellent performance, holding the ball up well and working throughout.

There just seems to be no real connection between him and Billy at the moment, but hopefully that will come.

 

Slightly worried about Tuesday - not particularly the result, but the crowd.

252 against Sudbury under the same circumstances, but they brought at least 50 with them.

Are we looking at less than 200?

That's just as concerning as the lack of results at the moment

We had at least 4 to 1 on them on Saturday. All things considered i thought we had a good turn out.

I can't see anyone other than the coaching staff coming along with them on Tuesday. According to a guy in the local pub they lost all their home support years ago.

 

This will be a big game for them so let's hope we wrap it up early on.
