Well well well, I was just wondering how he (Scott) was getting on when I saw Shelbourne were top o' t'table on Sky last night.

So, a midfield of Young, Graham, Challinor, Kean, Glynn, Oakes, Smith this season then. Hope we don't start playing the long ball game!

D'oh!! Forgot Challinor! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

No Deacon, Hyatt, Castle, Evans then Rob? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

At least it's not the emphasis on defence we once had

Firstly, webbo, why would I get too excited about that?

Secondly, one of the reasons I wouldn't get too excited is because I knew about this already.

Great news about Oakes. Qwality.

So:

Wilmott, White & GHA.

Gledhill, Evans, Brown, De Souza, Moran [T/Listed], Campbell and Naylor.

Young, Graham, Challinor, Glynn, Smith, Oakes, Kean, Deacon, Castle, and Shrek.

McDonnel, Crawshaw, Martin [T/listed], Mackail-Smith.

From the Reserves: Stannard, Seebey.

That lot looks good to me.

When are the fixtures released, Webbo?

Excellent News about Oakes!

These are all good signings, I actually think we'll do alright now <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Just a new centre back and a left back and Martin off the list and we'll be fine

I cant imagine Crawshaw will stay this year, which although it is a big loss, I can fully understand why.

He lives a fair distance away and is, dare I say, getting on in life, (well I've said it now!), so it may be a little difficult to comitt to us in the same way as last year.

Are you sure we are keeping White, AFF? Maybe we should look a little further afield for another keeper?

Some pretty speculative stuff there, HelenC, or is it that you know something we don't? The midfield certainly looks to be shaping into a potent force but if we are going to make any sort of challenge this season, we are going to need four quality strikers in the squad and at the moment I only see three - Crawshaw, McDonnell and Martin. I would say we can ill afford to lose a player of Crawshaw's ability and workrate.

Hi Helen.

Just to be absolutely clear, that wasn't my 'selection', but rather my summary of the news/lack of news from the past few weeks.

You have far more friends in far higher places than I Helski. You broke the big news of the departure of the physio as I recall. Go on, give us some more inside info.

Oh, by the way. I don't know anything about football but my views?

White isn't a goalkeeper. Nice guy, though.

No-one gave better 'value for money' last season than Gary Crawshaw. Head and shoulders. McDonnell will be delighted to play alongside a someone of that calibre. He's also a very nice guy. I'll mention your view of his age thing to him next term, Hel. "Getting on in life" wasn't it?

I have opinions on most of the rest but they will keep for now.

I see Crawshaw as complementing the other two if anything. His support play up front was superb last year, and he could be used to lay them on for the other two? Welling supporting colleague here says he's seen Nic McDonnell a few times and that, although not big, he has pace, and will cause Ryman defences problems, which is encouraging.

When's the season start? Nationwide season looks early to me, and might be tempted to make a first trip to Yeovil on August 16th.
