I was at the BGU v Burnham top of the table clash on Saturday. Must say a quite entertaining game and seems speaking to a few of the Burnham people they got their tactics spot on. Seems their professionalism of watching their opponents in a prior game paid dividends as they stopped BGU playing and it seemed BGU ran out of ideas. Two well taken goals by Burnham and although BGU had a lot of the ball they never really hurt Burnham and never really tested Smallsy until the last 5 minutes when it seemed from the sidelines that they had 8 upfront !!!!

I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of BGU so Gaffa & Boywonder do you feel Burnham did a number on you ???

Also like to know their thoughts on the ugly scenes near the end when supporters standing near the home dugout jumped the perimeter fence to run onto the pitch when a small altercation occured after a 50-50 tackle (from where I was standing)

Well my view of the game was yes Burnham got there tactics spot on playing eleven men behind the ball at all times, im not sure what game u was watching but we had a number of chances and smalsy pulled of a top draw save in the first 5 mins, also we where guilty of missing two open goals, we scored a goal but the ref said it never crossed the line, but it seems that teams are paying us a huge amount of respect and stopping us from playing rather than playing football there self’s, but like I said to the management of Burnham they are well organised and are by far the most organise team we have ever played, all new there role’s kicked the shiiit out of my players but that’s football, I was very happy with the way we played Saturday, only thing i will say is we gave away a soft goal on Burnham’s first the second was when we went 8 up front and went for it, so can’t complain about that one, and also we where guilty of missing some chances got to say the man of the match was smallsy for me and that say’s it all but credit to burnham I can see why they are top because it aint fancy but its effective how they play and I said to there manager I would rather play bad and win.

So well done to Burnham lovely people at there club and good luck for the season apart from when we come to ur ground to take the 3 points.

Smallsy is top draw

Gaffa firstly I am not a Burnham supporter just a ESL fan in general. I think you are being a little unfair in saying they had 11 behind the ball at all times they could have scored from a short corner in the first few minutes and I do remember the save in the 1st half Smallsy made, good save but would expect him to save it as it was straight at him. As for the disallowed goal I agree you were closer to it than me but how you could see from the touchline bearing in mind the state of the floodlights is beyond me.

Not sure about the shiite kicking a few strong tackles by both teams and apart from the handbags at the end (which you failed to comment on, I presume you don't condone it) the game was played in the right spirit for a top of the table clash.

If teams are showing you this respect and stopping you from playing then you must be doing something right. So keep it up I can see you finishing in the top 4.

No need to pay me smallsy just my opinion on the game good luck for the rest of the season.

SORRY i agree it was a good game for the neutrals and well worth the entrance fee, just not the result we wanted, but its a long season and from the teams iv seen everyone is capable of taking points of each other I think this will be the most exciting ESL in a long time if not the best ever just look how tight the table is, and my tip to surprise a lot of people this season are Hullbridge and APSA
