Paulton Rovers FC V's Norwich City FC in the FA Cup first round proper...

 

Good luck to them!!! Got to support the only club at our level still in the FA Cup. Especially after our sneaky Trophy win against them. I dare say there will be a few Royalists who would like to see the Canaries take a non league master class.

 

Still I thought it was a bit cheeky to charge £20 per ticket! Especially when they will be getting some lucrative television rights. The game will be shown on ITV1 at 12:45hrs on 7th November 2009.

£20 is steep, but according to their site their ground is only allowed 2140 total, so I guess they want to maximise the income (and don't they have to split the gate with Norwich, too? only pennies to them but rules are rules). And they probably have to pay more for policing etc.

After all, if it was WEFC we might complain a bit but we'd understand - it's the kind of income which could run the club for months, I'd think.

 

And absolutely - good luck to Paulton and I hope they do well.

I agree £20 seems a lot but how often do you get a chance to see norwich city having to come to your ground. They probably wont make a great deal as Dan said the policing and providing extra facilities means they might make a little. Having seen Paulton a bit i think they will give it a good go and it could prove to be the upset of the day.

bit harsh on the regular fans and is hardly going to encourage locals to come back. If Windsor had such a good draw i would hope we'd work just as hard to keep some of the glory hunters than we would getting the game to go ahead at Stag Meadow after all even if it's just another 50 week in week out thats a tidy sum of money long term!
