favourite away day

Eastside Urchin

Recommended Posts

Was thinking earlier about all the cracking away days we have had over the years from Newport county in the conference south to cogenhoe in the fa vase and so on,these are my two favourites for various reasons.

Cogenhoe for the marquee they put up for us and the thong we found at cambridge services

Newport for the p1ss up on the way down there, when we got there and the dj in their club was playing all 70 mod tunes etc and the moonshine american matt(who will be back at the bridge in a few weeks)brought with him.

Cracking days, whats your favourite and will we ever have away days like these again????

Newport was my first real away day and i will always remember that game and journey because of that, however last seasons FA Cup bring Bromley and Weymouth into it. Styles making that great save eand the stonewall penalty that won the game for us will live long in my memory, as well as the incident with Trees sunglasses. Then Weymouth cant describe it, coach was immense in fact the last time that i can remember having a good time on the coach, hiding the alcohol amongst all the sausage rolls in my picnic bag. The game also was amazing bundling Jesus when he scored the winner was the best time as an Urchin for myself! Shame there is no FA Cup this year maybe we can recreate in the Trophy instead

In no particular order:

Cogenhoe (FA Vase - Marquee & Hog Roast)

Weymouth (Conf Sth - Who let The Doog out?!)

Maidenhead (Conf Sth - Biased Bob's rant at lino)

Grays (Conf Sth - Conga)

Chalfont St Peter (FA Cup - We got our arses out, and then we knocked you out!)

Southend Manor (ESL - winning the league in a blizzard)

Weymouth (FA Cup - last minute winner)

GWR (ESC Final @ Roots Hall)

Brentwood (ESL Cup Final @ Grays)

St Albans (Conf Sth - last away game of the season in fancy dress)

i have happy memories from maidenhead away, although nothing to do with the footy...

newport was very messy. the moonshine opened and beers flying around at 8.30am... everybody still drinking when we got back about midnight...

arsley away in the league where the naughty keeper squirted me with water and then their fans tried to attack me rob and tink all because i told him his mother fellates donkeys...

can't believe you missed out romford away in the 2nd leg of the league cup semi final rob...

even though we lost, and i picked up 3 points speeding, and had to drive a pissed up andy thomson back, boston united away was cracking. the birth of the eastside disco, which continued to grays away later that season.

brings us of course to the worst away day - has to be london apsa at the mcmillan. they didn't serve beer?!!!
