Southend United Match report says an own goal. Shock that the waste of space keeper Ian Joyce made a hash of things.

Bowers Report from SUFC site

Despite playing a youth team, it's a fantastic result for Bowers infront of a very decent crowd. As a shrimper, its been a bad week for Sufc :help:

Well Done Bowers though, great for them as a club and the ESL. Congratulations :champis2:

Dont mate, SUFC is a major worry. 13 fit professionals for Friday, three of which only have a handful of first team games amongst them.

Even Till had to play tonight...wonder if he will go on the bench friday!?!?

In the league, saturday will be interesting. It's first against second in the Bethnal Green v Burnham match and also third against fourth in the Basildon v Enfield game.

Love the title of this thread, Historic , GET IN THERE.

Couldnt give a monkeys if it was there under 9's and they played a one armed dwarf in goal.

Well done too Colin and all the boys :signthankspin: Thoroughly deserved win, Ands a great night for the club.

Southend United sent in their own words a "Side" to the Len Salmon Stadium tonight :discobanana: :brille008:

Deffo Paul Carr's goal JJ, he charged down a poor attempted clearance from Joyce, who could only watch as the ball looped over his head and into the net.

Move of the match was in the first half, following good work by Hart down by the corner flag, he played the ball back to Marron, who's first time cross was met with a spectactular overhead bicycle kick by Judd, which Joyce did well to tip over the bar.

Did the person who wrote the Southend website report even watch the game?! I was the main threat up front though... I agree with that!!

From the Essex FA website... http://www.essexfa.com/News/2009/10/BowersPitsea1-0SouthendUnited%28SeniorCup%29.htm

It was Nicky Judd's overhead kick that was saved by Joyce, not Gillam's. Makes you wonder if he got the two confused through the whole game and that he should have made Judd the MOTM!!!

hookey you have just shown your true colours. for years now you have proclaimed to be a bowers and pitsea fan but have been courting their biggest rivals basildon utd and now another local side basildon town. now, as bowers have their "moment in the sun", you are suddenly a die hard supporter again. im not shocked, but i am disappointed.

What are you smoking these days Smallsy, cos whatever it is it ain't good for you.

I changed my avatar on Saturday evening, after Bowers had lost at Barking, so it was hardly for the reasons you stated above. Also, your argument would hold more water if I had changed my avatar to the Bowers & Pitsea badge.

The truth is I'll still follow whatever club Joe plays for, whether it be Bowers, Tilbury, Bas Utd or Bas Town. I just felt that to invest emotionally in a club that he might walk away from, or be dumped from, would make leaving the club that much harder. That's why I changed the avatar. The fact remains that Joe is the manager/coach of Bas Town's U13s, which is why the avatar was there in the first place.

I don't think there's a single forum regular, other than you, who does not believe that I am a Bowers fan.

No doubt you'll claim a bite, well fill your boots!

hahahahaha of course i will claim a bite that was a big one! I think there is a feeling these days that if someone states at the end of their bite that "no doubt you will claim this as a bite" then it doesnt count!
