Although I'm not one to talk about the weather...

Sitting in the Science Lab on the 5th floor of South East Essex College was pretty frightful. As the Science Lab is all open-plan you can see from one side to the other. It was a fantastic lighting display across Southend Town Centre and something got hit, cause the Fire Brigade were called into action!

I've only ever seen one storm worse than that one, but I always look forward to a good natural pirotechnic festival in the heavens!!!

Wey hey let's hope that it's the building across the road from your college that got struck, because that's where I work!

Didn't say I was scared MKJ, just a bit nervous that while this thunderstorm was raging I was on these forums and I was a little bothered that the power might go halfway through a riveting post.

It was massive while I was doing the radio show in Essex yesterday, the roads were like rivers. I was a little concerned about this massive metal transmitter pole on the roof being prime lightning strike material.

Loads of thunder and lightning as well, at one point I thought we'd been hit as a flash entered the room, but the phone is attached to a strobe light and it was only that!

Storms are very relaxing to watch, as you sit behind a window and watch the elements batter outside, this is another reason we should keep global warming up, it was also nice to sit in the pub garden to 11pm as well.

Which one's that YA?

You'll have to be careful there!

1) The boss of one of them buildings practices fire-drills almost every week and all them buildings have to be evacuated.

2) If there is a bomb scare is Southend like there was just after Christmas, those are the first buildings searched... (and all newcomers are immediately suspected ]
They don't give a toss about the College though! If that Civic Centre ever got it's base blown and it falls the wrong way, it will take out about 3/4 of the College and kill alot of innocent Southend civilians...Hang on, that might not be a bad thing!!

The new SEEC building is that massive piece of construction work being built next to Southend Central.

It's bigger than the current buildings as it has to house all four of them into one: Canarvon Rd, London Rd, East Street Centre & Queens Rd. Centre.

It is still a College, but will continue to do; Degrees, HNDs etc. just as they do at the minute.

Everyone moves in August 15th 2004 about a month after I've finished my A-Levels . It's 6 stories high and one side of the building is completely made out of this new plastic stuff that is so smooth they say even birdshit can't stick to it!

I've seen all the renderings, CGI presentations and everything and it looks pretty darn good. The only thing I have against it is that there is a 'Theatre Pod' being built right in the middle of the building and it looks like a cross between gigantic Heart & Stomach! It's red and everything, it looks disgusting. One thing I don't mind though is that it's all escalators and not stairs this time...that is if I choose to do my Degree there.

Not a bleeding thing here in the City! Don't even think it rained. Got rather gloomy but that really was about the bulk of it!

Grr...

Btw, YA, thanks for the hat - I'll pick it up when we play you, unless you trot down to the stadium before.

mm does this mean the previously rock hard sarfend will now be full of foppy haired twats with pushbikes and scarfs?

Doubt it, only the location of the building has changed. By about half a mile.

The current buildings at London Rd. & Carnavon Rd. are being torn down. At Carnavon Rd where the College would've stood they are building two big blocks of flats...If anything it's the immigrants moving in there you ought to worry about!!!

Sorry LMU didn't get out at lunchtime. I'll try tomorrow.

Matt, I work in the Social Security building (Victoria House) on the Sixth floor.

Oh yeah I nearly got run over by that coach!, was that the bus stop by the Odeon?

Did you hear about the accident in Southend? They closed the road by the underpass, there was glass everywhere. The police were clearing it up at 4pm when I came out of work.

Yep by the Odeon that was us! I was gonna call out to you but being in the middle of a conversation you was already across the crossing by the time I had finished.

Was it an accident? My Coach arrived at Vic Circus about five past four and there was a police car blocking the path of the coach, (as it had to make a wide turn) and a 'meatwagon' across the other carriageway. They were just collecting to cones up as we were getting off at the Odeon.

I'll see if it's on the Echo website!!

Did you also see about the Woman Copper that got run over by the bloke from East London? I was on the bus that got pulled over by the police on Monday. We were surrounded by Coppers! If anyone wanted to make a quick getaway, they had the Dog Unit ready too.

Apparently there was a fight outside my building between two women. The coppers came rushing over from across the road and broke it up.

Bloody hell, so I was caught red handed this morning with a West Ham bag, oh the shame of it!!

B.T.W Those two women I was with were work colleagues so don't get any ideas!

I must have just missed you coming home, because I was coming along at about 4.05.

No ideas YA! They looked a bit too old for you anyway! Oh don't tell them I said that!

There were hoards of us getting off the three coaches at 4:05pm so you probably just saw a large crowd and thought 'Yobs'...

The worst part of today was that I was sitting next to 'ASHRIMPER' on the Coach to the Zoo, the coach coming back from the Zoo and the Bus home!!! He was getting orgasmic cause the Southend fixtures had just come out and telling me how Southend were going to get promoted this season...I was pretending to be asleep by the time we got the Rayleigh Wier!!!
