We've got a new manager and a new coach, so we don't need him to stay. If he stays, he'll be earning money that we can't really afford to pay him. So, no offence to the guy, I hope he doesn't stay.

He could be doing what he was here before Terry and him took over Stuy, I dont think he was paid for that, but not 100% sure.

Whilst i read a bit of speculation on other threads, does anyone have any definitive updates on the situation with Neville Southall ?

 

Is he still involved at any level within the club ?

 

Has a decision been reached or are discussions still on-going ?

I saw Nev at the Club yesterday. I have no idea what his position is with the Club but, he is still running the apprentice scheme. So he is still around.

In todays paper it states that Mark would love to have Big Nev on board in some capacity as he used to work with him. Maybe watching games etc for him? Talks are still on going.

Didn't Nev and T.Y. work for the club in some capacity before they were employed as manager and assistant? I know my memory is shot, but surely the club could retain him in something similar to his previous position?

That is exactly what was mentioned at the forum we had with the new director, I know Nev is a great advocate for youth development so it was good to hear Mark is too, so am sure they can work together well.

As we begin another chapter, i am still wondering whether closure has been acheived with Southall.

 

There have been a few vague postings that he is working for the club in a youth development capacity -is that fact or supposition ?

 

I guess, i'm simply returning to the question at top of the thread-is Neville still working for the club and if so in what capacity ?

 

As far as i recall-it has never been announced by the club what his position (if any ) is post Yoraths departure except for the clubs Octobers announcement that discussions were 'ongoing' (been ongoing a long time then )

Surely though, if he was still here in some capacity he would have been on the sideline at the last two games?
