Saturday's protest

BFR

Recommended Posts

Jumping the gun a little as the final agreed time for the Slough High Street walk/flyer distribution - but to Ian or Gary, I can't make it there for 12 because of a family commitment but will get there as soon after then as possible (quick dash back from Twyford)

If I can help out with anything between now and then, let me know.

Sorry for delay in replying - I don't access the forum from work (company rules and all that) and have been busy tonight creating a couple of signs for next Monday!

The walk/handout starts at midday outside the cinema/by the bird thing or, for those of you with good memories, where The Kingfisher pub once was.

We'll be easy to find for anyone arriving after midday as we'll all be in Slough shirts so join whenever you can.

Just to let you all know , I heard on Star FM , if i heard correctly , that there is some asian dance thing happening in the town square on saturday (assume that means outside the cinema) . I think it starts at 2pm , so don't be surprised if it's crowded anyways .

In a sence of irony , I did hear wrong . Something is starting at midday on the square thenmovong on to somewhere else at 2pm . Oh Joy ! All I heard was something to do with 'Asians' so what religion they are I don't know .

Oh hurrah - just what we wanted!

Well we're not going to be in the square as we'll be wandering up and down the High Street. We're only handing out leaflets so nobody can take too much offence at that surely?!

As we all agree, we're not disagreeing with the Council because it's a Sikh school. If they had given the land to a Catholic school we'd be having exactly the same debate.

We're disagreeing with the fact that they want to put something on the land that we want. If the Council were to allocate a different site then they can build a school dedicated to the followers of Wycombe Wanderers for all I care. Actually, maybe that's a step too far!

Not sure what they're expecting. The intention is to hand out the flyers encouraging people to come and support us on Monday night and raise the profile of the Club by having loads of Rebels shirts on show in the town.

As far as I'm concerned there's no march, there's no protest and we're not there to annoy people. I imagine if we started drumming in the town on Saturday and disrupting the shoppers, the Police would have us removed pretty quickly.

Midday, by the cinema.
