it's a very open league this season, anyone can win it, even CLAPTON.

Clapton it's a diferent team this season, won't be bottom of the league in April and many teams will be beaten at our ground this season.

Don't understimate CLAPTON boys.

Southend United, of course it is. :smashfreakb:

Feel sorry for Bowers a little as it will be a complete team of Youth players on Wednesday. SUFC are struggling big time.

First team only have 12 fit professionals and the 3 reserve players and in that first team squad too. With a game on firday night, they will only send youth players and the lesser youth players at that.

Could be a Bowers win

ESSEX....have you been smoking crack. What are you going on about re: Clapton winning the league.

It's refreshing mate.....It Keeps the league exciting, at the moment each weekend we know that points will be dropped as a lot of top 8 sides are playing each other.

Financially, the pre season favourites of Bowers and Tiptree are under-acheiving at the minute in a big way. Enfield look to have turned the corner but face two tough games with Basildon on weds and sat.

Burnham are decent, Bethnal Green has settled really well. Basildon, Sawbo (Starting to fall) and unbeaten Stansted have all probably over-acheived.

Takeley, Southend Manor, Eton Manor, Barking, B'side, Witham will all be slightly dissapointed at the minute although with everyone faltering they are all still capable of a top 6 finish.

For me, sorry mate but Clapton wont make the top 10 this season...too many decent sides aboutManor play Clapton in April so I will have a Beer with you on that?

P.S I wont comment on the Hullbridge revolution until after I see them tomorrow :discobanana:

Very interesting comments mate.

I think we all agree in that this is a very exciting season.

in your opinion who plays the best football in the league.

I think Basildon is the most physical team and Hullbridge the most tactical, but the league is still a lot of kick and rush.

Barkingside plays some lovely football sometimes.

what do you think mate!

Have'nt seen too much this season if I am honest. I am suprised at Sawbo's great start as Manor battered them but lost to a 94th minute goal, I expect them to gradually fall away.

Barking try to play decent football to be fair. B'side play to there strengths despite not being the most attractive football.

Realistically, If you have a decent goalscorer or two in this league (as with most leagues) then you will go far. Without one and you will struggle to break into the top 6. That is why if the the likes of Gillam (Bowers), Lewis (Burnham), Thomas (B'side) and Bocking (Basildon) picked up injuries, then these sides would not be as dangerous/challenging to the league.

Some sides are decent, play good stuff and work hard but at the end of the day GPTR

Essex...I would welcome seeing Clapton improve. That season under Woodsy was the only decent one since they came back into the ESL from the Ryman.

We having that bet then about the top ten then??

I have checked the calendar, no it is not the 1st April. Clapton top 10 and Hullbridge top 6. Will the Hullbridge poster be at the Comedy Store in London tomorrow or at Lower Road? Unfortunately for you boys, bottom 3 come April will consist of Hullbridge, Clapton & Mauritius in no particular order. Even if Coachy's boys beat us tomorrow. After Christmas we should be clear of the bottom three to safely finish 14th at worst.

We won't put FIVE past many but Clapton we aleady have. No billy big bolloxs just stating of our 3 wins our biggest was against Clapton.

PLEASE NOTE: I am Not including minor cups, Essex Senior League Cup Group, Gordon Brasted Cup or Essex Senior Cup in the ABOVE comments.. just the major three cups - League, F.A.Cup & F.A.Vase.

This season's in the major competitions...
