Rushall Re Sign Players

Midlands Alliance runners-up, Rushall Olympic, have been handed a major summer boost by securing the services of last season's top scorer Lee Booth.

 

As Rushall manager Kevin Hadley claimed: "We're absolutely delighted he is staying. He's the ultimate predator in front of goal at this level of football. He struck 28 goals since arriving at Rushall last season. His goal ratio is superb."

 

The club feared Booth could be tempted back into Dr Martens League football with one of his former

clubs, Stourport Swifts, known to be interested, but Booth has decided to remain loyal to the Dales Lane club.

 

Meanwhile, Rushall have now re-signed most of last season's squad with the exception of skipper Richard Brown, who has been on holiday; the versatile Rob Vassell and youngster Ben Willetts. Midfield playmaker Steve McCartan has also agreed to stay with the Pics, despite known interest from league rivals Oldbury United's boss Bob Green.

 

Hadley concluded: "It's been a difficult time because we were hoping to progress and that didn't happen. But it's encouraging players have agreed to stay despite the disappointment of not achieving promotion."
