In fairness to Keith, he has given me the key news as soon as he's able for most of this season. And as soon as I can, I get it on the website. A good signing too I think, and one that relfects the new board's input.

Any chance of any confirmation that Big Nev will stay with the club and fill the roll which he does so well?

Hopefully will have something on that later.

He could fill many a bap! :icon29:

Seriously though. Welcome aboard Mark Butler. He stuck it out with ATm for a long time. Well after the money disappeared and is a well respected manager.

Exciting times. :490:

If I remember right wasn't this the guy Joseba mentioned some time back? If so we have got him now Jim!

And of course Michael has too, as Peter says.

I've had a quick shifty on the ATm forum. Here's a quote

Gents, just to add a little bit more info. We had a call from Margate some weeks ago seeking permission to speak to Mark. He is under no obligation to us and there was no option but to agree. That was several weeks ago and the matter seeemed to have died until yesterday evening, when out of the blue Mark told us that he had been offered the job. Today he told Bob Parker that he had decided to take it

Mark has been a very positive influence on our Club and we are sorry to see him go, especially to a club at our own level, but no one person makes a club and rest assured we will be doing our best to appoint the right person in due course, either from within or outside, to push our Club on in the future.

The immediate priority is to stay positive and give Keith and the team every support from tomorrow onwards.

They must be gutted. It's got to hurt to lose a manager to a club in the same division.

Thier loss is our gain.

Very happy indeed with this appointment. Maybe just maybe we might just have picked the right man at the right time. He must be in his early 40s, has just taken Ashford into the Ryman Prem and established them there, and is looking for a bigger challenge. I say let's get behind Mark and give him all the support he deserves to mould us into a force in this division. As Peter has already said, it's not gonna be a quick fix, and the most important ingredient to gelling a team is time. An astute appointment from the board. Hopefully a sign of good times to come!

Welcome Mark. Up the Gate. COYB etc

Quite correct Alan he should have been appointed after Robin Trott left.

Well done MFC 18 months to late but better late than never. Now as Alan says go and get Ricky Wellard on loan from that club in Norbiton.
